Just wondered really. I don't get them very often, but just occasionally seem to get some "out there" ones.
Had one today from a ranting buyer saying I am "extorting" money from people and that they are going to report me to ebay because of it. This is because I'm selling a collectable item for more than its original price (market price if it is on auction is the same).
Quite bemused really, but what do you say to that? OK? I await my warning from ebay for charging a market price?! I could of course tell them about profit, loss, market demand and so on but anyone who could send me this very long and ranting message clearly isn't going to listen to reason...

If he's not purchasing anything, then usually I'm happy to reply with an equally snooty reply as I don't risk negative feedback....2012-2013 Deposit target £2663.05/ £3876.74 :j

I'm very tempted but normally don't as I think I should remain professional and don't see the point of a debate as I'm not going to change their mind. However, this one today has bemused me more than normal.
I'm making about £12 profit on this item, and apparently it is the biggest case of exploitation they have ever seen!

I have no time for fools and never want to deal with them, my ways can be a bit blunt but hey ho if it was me I would add him to my blocked bidders list and the reply telling him I had done this and to jog on........politely of course

My BBL is always updated very quickly!

To be honest I like getting messages like this before a sale, it's much easier to deal with them when they give you a heads up on what they're like!

wouldn't reply
simply add to the block list
remember its easy to set up an eBay account to cause a seller hassle
IMO its less likely if you don't reply0 -
Unless buyer has bought it (and I assume not) what the heck is it to do with them? You can sell anything you like for whatever price you like. It's up to the buyer to decide whether it's worth paying it or not.
So long as what you are selling and what you want for it is clear in your listing. Buyers are free to make you an offer anyway.

If there's a question in a ranty email I will reply with impeccable politeness. If there are no questions just factually incorrect comments and threats then I don't reply at all.

Just reply that if they don't like the price, then they can buy elswhere.0 -
Quite! Well I have replied politely saying that they are welcome to report me but I have broken no rules, and to buy elsewhere if they are unhappy with the price. No doubt a ranty reply coming up!

Don't reply.
Just add them to your blocked bidder list and then forget about them.
Life is too short to waste time on fools.
Edit: We posted at the same time:
If they do respond, then ignore them.chickaroonee wrote: »Quite! Well I have replied politely saying that they are welcome to report me but I have broken no rules, and to buy elsewhere if they are unhappy with the price. No doubt a ranty reply coming up!
All your replies will do is encourage them.0
