It's my birthday on Thursday which is when I'll officially be getting the phone to really have a go at it! Ha ha - NO downloading of any games though Actually I saw that the phone has loads of - I think it's called bloatware - I'd call it rubbish. Is there any way of getting rid of this easily or is it very complicated? I am a complete novice where phones are concerned although since I taught myself to make my website, I'm hoping that maybe tweaking the phone won't be too difficult?

You'll need to install a custom ROM. Try this guide. Read it twice then read it again.

Been umming and aahing about this phone for a month or so but this thread finally had me convinced. Went for the Very.co.uk deal with quidco and hduk code. If it is as good as I have been reading, I will be a very happy smart-phoner indeed and can finally leave the iPhone4 I gave DD alone!

Comments indicate that I need not worry whether I am in or not for delivery tomorrow, as phone will still be left regardless of no signature. Will update when in receipt!

Next to do is try and blag free unlock code from Voda store and rid phone of bloatware without breaking it...

can i get this phone cheaply without applying for a very credit account, my credit rating is rubbish it was not accepted .

It's currently £60 in-store at Tesco but good luck finding one in stock. Surely the 3 month Vodafone exclusive period must be up by now? If so, why is this phone not being offered by the other networks? There are some good cash back offers on PAYG with the other networks.

i cant find the phone on the tesco mobile website do i have to phone my local store to check availability?? I will be wanting to unlock it and use giffgaff sims.

To remove bloatware you need to root the phone using the guide bunny82 posted.
Then use Rom Toolbox or Titanium Backup to uninstall the bloat.
(You can backup to sd card first if you wish in case of any problem then reinstall them)

It's not on the Tesco Mobile site, just in store. Best thing is to ring their HQ cust services (0800 505 555) and ask if there are any in stock locally. Take care to make sure they are looking for the G300 because one monkey I got gave me the stock details for the Y201 - not the same phone at all!
