Cancelling T-Mobile Contract Early

  • ''If you feel you have been miss-sold your mobile contract or been given misleading information or promises regarding mobile network coverage then you may be able to complain to one of the two telecoms dispute resolution schemes.
Every mobile operator in the UK must belong to either Cisas or the Communication Ombudsman Service and they have the power to award compensation to you the consumer of up to £5,000 if your complaint is up held.
However, before you take your complaint to either service you will need to have complained directly to your network provider and been through their in house complaints procedure''

On a serious note I do think that the first best thing to do would be to at least question all the extra charges that have been applied to my account...it would be fantastic to get out of this deal...and I know I need to have a genuine reason or complaint to do that.

Putting that aside...I believe that I do have a few valid reasons....I mean these charges are in my view hidden charges and were not explained to me...plus as I do not have a copy of T-Mobile's t's & c's its really hard for me to know what I agreed to and not...if you see what I mean?

Does anyone have a copy of T Mobile's t's & c's that they could paste up or send me a link please?

Also being charged nearly £50 for changing my number due to nuisance calls was a bit of a hefty sum to pay...and one would expect that this information is clearly stated in the t's and c's?

Just some of the genuine complaints I have to forward to T Mobile..because being charged almost £50 for changing your mobile number seems to be nothing else but a rip off and I will be writing out my complaint later today and will post up a draft copy on here to.

Thanks all....appreciate all the help and support you have given so far.

Thanks Earthworm.....I see that the link you have attached are T Mob's t's & c's...a bit confused I am as it reads Version 58B dated July 2012

    w
ill these terms still apply to contracts before July 2012? plus I never received a copy of T Mob's t's & c's...and reading the one you have linked and posted up I can't see anywhere where a charge will be applied for changing your number?

Now I have just read on some T Mob's forums about nuisance calls and getting your number changed. It says that if someone is receipting nuisance calls they are allowed to change their number free once...now I had my number changed only once so why was I charged approx £50?

This is not good....and I am going to have to include this is my complaint....I believe I have been mis led by the customer service adviser...this is such a large and ridiculous fee to have to change your number?

I have sent T Mobile my complaint and concerns. I also informed them that I needed a copy of their t's & c's which they have sent me. I have looked through the t's & c's that I had when I received my new updated phone.

I have read through both sets of terms and cannot find anywhere that you will have to pay the remaining months of your contract if you want to terminate your contract early.

Please could someone point me to where it dose state this as I am having difficulty finding it please?

    Pay monthly terms and conditions:
    7.2. Your termination rights
7.2.1. You can give Us notice to terminate this Agreement, to take effect on or after the end of the Minimum Term. However (except as set out in point 7.2.3) if, in our total discretion, We accept notice from You to terminate this Agreement within the Minimum Term, You will have to pay Us a Cancellation Charge. You can terminate this Agreement without having to pay Us a Cancellation Charge after the Minimum Term has ended.
Non standard charges (excluding U-Fix, Solo Fixed and SIM only fixed plans):
    Terminating your agreement with us
You can terminate your agreement with us at
any time by calling customer services. Your
agreement will terminate one calendar month
from when we receive your call stating that you
wish to terminate the agreement. You are free to
change your mind and call us to restore your
agreement at any time during that month’s
notice period. You must pay as everything you
owe us if you terminate your agreement with us.
If you are terminating once your existing
minimum term contract has run out, you will be
responsible for all charges including the price
plan charges up to and including the date that
your agreement terminates. If you are
terminating whilst you are within your existing
minimum term, a cancellation charge will apply.
We calculate a cancellation charge by firstly
adding together all outstanding monthly (or
other periodic) monthly charges (or any other
charges stated in the terms and conditions for
any service) for the remainder of your minimum
term. We then take off 4% of that figure to get
    the final charge.
