You'll know if it has been installed because you'll see the yahoo toolbar in your browser. Probably underneath the address bar somewhere. You could also check by following the steps in the second link, the bit below where it says

Here’s how to set your PC to open Yahoo! Mail when you click an email link on a webpage.

Now it becomes clear, if you have Firefox then you just need to set up the default mail client in their settings. Follow this http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-program-used-open-email-links

Sorry generally the kind of people who ask questions such as yours will use ie as it is built onto any windows machine.

The above link will sort it and it is easy to follow.

As someone said, this is just a configuration issue on your machine. Everyone else will be able to click and open the link without an issue.

(If you have already installed the yahoo toolbar, get rid of it)
