  • I wonder who drummed these idealogies into them?

Not so much drumming in ideologies, but yes, the boomer generation has failed miserably, raising a generation of spineless whiners.

This is ridiculous if it's true - my mum was a librarian in the 1980s/early 1990s and she left school at 16 with a bunch of CSEs to her name...

Depends what you mean by 'librarian'. A librarian is not someone who stamps out Harry Potter books to 12-year-olds. This is what an actual 'librarian' post looks like:

    Faculty Team Librarian

Biosciences and Veterinary Medicine and Science

    University of Nottingham
-Information Services - Research & Learning Resources Division

    (part-time, fixed-term)

    £27,578 - £35,938
per annum (pro rata), depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
    • Undertaking subject and academic liaison duties for the School of Biosciences and the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science.
    • Managing a combined book and periodicals budget in the region of £371,000.
    • Overseeing provision of print and electronic resources to support the research and teaching needs of the School of Biosciences and the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science.
    • Providing information skills training and subject enquiry services for these Schools.
Candidates should be educated to degree level (or equivalent), preferably in a relevant subject, and hold a relevant postgraduate or professional qualification in librarianship (or equivalent).

I suspect your mum was a library assistant not a librarian.

I would say its a bit harsh to generalise a whole generation like that, yes they may grumble more but with how things are and how they where I am sure more boomers would grumble if in the same situation.

    Yes, I said that.
Not wishing to generalise, luckily, there are exceptions.

    Pay attention, Percy.

Professionals tend to charge fees rather than be employed. eg Lawyer, Accountant, etc. Even the more successful doctors.

Braying jacka$$es incapable of empathy for other human beings imo.

Heehaw heehaw! They deserve to rent forever!
Heehaw heehaw! I earned everything I've got including everything I've got that comes from milking a housing shortage and claiming more in state benefits than I've put in!
Heehaw heehaw! How dare they complain!

Why would anyone doing a basic job in the bottom 2/3rds of the income scale expect to do anything but rent if they wish to live in an expensive area? It has always been like that.

Sounds like pure jealousy to me, scorn and derision just for being better off. Pathetic.

Guess that just moaning is easier than getting out and improving your situation though.
