I believe quite a few people have bought them off Amazon from the USA. Not entirely sure I'm in favour as I like to support UK sellers wherever I can, as if we don't we won't have any one day! We've already lost just about all our manufacturing - don't want to lose our small retailers as well!0

Cheers Andy. Never thought of having one shipped in as I try to support UK shops as well. Although I won't step foot in te£co.0

I bought one for my mother of Amazon.Com - a hell of a lot cheaper then here - and seeing as they arent British built - what the hell

Now as to the argument as do they work?
Im no scientist - I have a few CSE'S from many years ago - and I flunked physics, so this is laymans experience
My own stove is free standing in a huge room and does a wonderful job of heating it
Mothers has a small stove but with a pretty big KW (7kw) for size and is in a fireplace = nothing protruding into the room
Now before I bought her the eco fan she was slumbering her stove so much the glass was always pure black - because to fill the fire and to get it pelting - cooked her. Now with the fan the air circulates a lot easier and shes getting a better all round heat in the room - and even the how of the downstairs is benefiting as shes working her stove and circulating the heat better.
Maybe Im talking out the back of me bum but thats been our experience. A stove thats getting a full workout, less fuel required and a more evenly warmed house0 -
I spent ages reserching Ecofan, should I or shouldn't. The deciding factor was, there were 2 on E-bay which both sold for £10 less than I could buy them for new, so I bought one. Used for one winter, what do I think, I'm going to buy a second for the other side of the logburner. My burner is a Villager A flat top. Well worth the huge price I think.
It took 1.1Kg/hour of hornbeam to keep my high ceilinged lounge at a constant 21 degrees celcius during the only weekend we had snow in Kent this year, record kept over 3 days.0 -
I have a Vulcan fan and given my stove is my only form of heating the fan really does make a difference. I must admit I was very sceptical at first. Just dont expect it to blow a full on hurricane of hot air around the room.0

Hi
We got our ecofan online from woodstock fires last year - they were slightly cheaper than elsewhere - excellent service and fast delivery.0 -
I tried an electric fan which was noisy and produced a bit of a cold draft but it did make the room temp more even. In the end I buckled and bought an Eco Fan. Its virtually silent you don't have to turn it on or off. You can fill very little draft and yet it works better than my electric fan. I tried the electric fan at different speeds and positions. That's my experience although I will say they are very expensive for what they are.0

suki1964, did you have to pay customs? Hadn't realised how much cheaper they are on Amazon.com but trying to work out how much duty would be. Know there's also the dreaded admin charge as well usually isn't there.0

The price quoted on there was the price all in - then a month later had a refund of some of the fee - cant remember how much as its a while back now and I cant find the email. But I know I wasnt the only one who got a nice refund of some of the fees which I think were customs fees0
