whats the betting the extract fan is 600mm the same as the oven housing & with decor panels on the sides of the two wall units it won't fit as you will only have a 570mm-580mm gap, i hear more swearing coming up.
Errm no you'll still have a 600 mm (sic) gap between the inside faces of the decor panels to go with the 600mm short cab over the top because the decor panels go between the cabs all the way up. Thats also why you need decor panels between the base cabs as well because you need to stretch it all out a bit to match (cab under cab and panel under panel) top to bottom so that the doors all line up and it ends up looking nice and tiddly. :D.

    Cheers

Edit: Actually I can see now that the blue lines I've used for the decor panels don't show up that well so my fault if its unclear.

I'm a bit confused about the island units as they have been changed around so many times. However, they are doubled up back to back with normal size base units and wall units that can go on the floor so approx 1000 wide by 2600. The dishwasher is going in there plus a drawer unit plus the sink unit:

400 cupboard, 600 sink unit, 600 dishwasher, 600 drawer & 400 drawer inner side, on the other side I am not sure, but mainly cupboards.

I could see them. We are having stainless steel sheet behind the extractor.

yes i see where you are coming from, however & i'm not for one min saying this is the case but when have you ever seen decor panels inserted in between base units they are normally just used to cover the white sides ie on the sides of the wall units & extract & if this is the case & the wall units are the same size as the base units then................... well i'm covering my ears :p
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

you take a wall unit depth decor panel, cut it in half lengthways and using the finished edge facing towards the kitchen install each half between the outer base units and the oven housing........ and your perceieved problem evaporates.
well i'm covering my ears :p
    I dont think you'll miss anything. :)

Decor panels do not go between units, either on the wall or floor. In a few instances the decor panel can be used to replace the existing side of a wall unit, but there are no instances where you end up with 2 cabinet sides and a decor panel between them.

If you do this, there will be a gap between the doors of adjacent units, or a gap between the edge of your oven and the adjacent cabinet door.

On the floor, you will also have a break in the plinth which will not only look dreadful, it will provide a pair of ideal places for dirt to collect in.

Maybe I've given the impression that my husband is some kind of bumbling idiot but he really is not. The decor panels are between all the base units.

What about a tall unit next to a wall and bae unit. This is an Ikea kitchen. This is the way the Ikea design works the decor panel goes top to bottom of the unit excluding legs.
If you do this, there will be a gap between the doors of adjacent units, or a gap between the edge of your oven and the adjacent cabinet door.
No there won't because the decor panel is deeper than the units and fills the gap between the doors. In the case of the oven housing solution you make it so.

Nope sorry - can't see that either. Plinth is continuous.

Yes, he's worked out the weight per unit and floor has been reinforced.

Also, there won't be a gap in the plinth as wall panel stops flush with unit and then there are legs underneath. We saw a display kitchen with panels between base units in Ikea and it looked fine.
