How much should I expect to pay?

In the North east most trades will charge around £120 a day.. Its no good trying to charge more if no one will pay it..

I live in a low wage area in East Anglia and as such £150 a day is about average. The guy who came round to quote this morning has set fees for jobs. Such as £100 for kitchen removal, £500 for fitting of units, so much for tiling per meter etc. Seems a bit strange and am waiting on his written quotation. Will be getting more quotes in. The guy who came round today was pushing Howdens and its so called October sales.0

Phil
Alot of trades push howdens due to there discount that may or in most cases not be passed on fully hence making more cash in there pocket.
they dont always recommend howdens for quality is gen down to £0 -
All I want is a cheap kitchen, I will see what Howdens offer and then try and compare. Do they have an October sale like I have been told? The guy apparently used to work for Howdens. I will be buying the kitchen though rather than going through the tradesperson unless they can show it works out cheaper. I will push Howdens hard. I dont intend to stay in this house all that long before moving hence one of the reasons I want a cheaper option. House is not worth much either so cant justify to much cost. Appreciate all the replies.0

I dont need to worry about an account because the fitter wants to escort me who has an account. Thanks.0

You are looking at iro £ 1,500 by the time he's finished adding up all the items I'm guessing. Be interested to hear how close I am.Such as £100 for kitchen removal, £500 for fitting of units, so much for tiling per meter etc. Seems a bit strange and am waiting on his written quotation. Will be getting more quotes in. The guy who came round today was pushing Howdens and its so called October sales.

But, they don't ALL add hundreds to every quote, most pass the discount on and add their profit to the fit cost.
Thats what my so far prefered fitter has said, he would give me the Howdens quote and then add his fee on top which I think is good.
He also advised about the October sale which I thought was decent of him. He said I should ask Howdens for there October prices now for kitchen delivery in October. Viewed this guys work as well as he gave me references. Rather impressed.0 -
Hang on which one is it??? In your previous post you said and I quoteKitchen_DesignR wrote: »Now is the time to ask for a first week deal....
Stock is at a premium in the last week, with everyone fighting for a delivery.
It's far better to get it sorted early IMO
'If the Sheds fail to delivery 50% of the kitchen its going to take the tradeperson longer to fit. It delays his next job and all the following jobs.
God forbid... if their is a damaged item, perhaps Howdens and Benchmarx have other depots to call upon to get a replacement hand delivered to site, rather than stop work and keep going back and forth...'
and now your saying Howdens will run out of stock??? Im confused???Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Does anyone else feel that this post is perilously close to being pink and greasy? Or is it just me?Kitchen_DesignR wrote: »Adam, I didn't say Howdens will run out of stock.
I said we have a network of depots who work together to meet the demands when we require it.
Stock is at a premium at the end of October, we have thousands of kitchen all being delivered. It's sometimes better to beat the rush.
