Loving your diary chocoholic_chick :rotfl:
Online food shopping has always been a no no for me, as I work in a supermarket (not a store that does online shopping)I have seen the staff just grab the first one from the shelf and never look at the dates, as when I do the shopping I always get the item from the back of the shelf as that is where the best shelf date items should be!!
Keep up the good work your be MF before you know it :j
Eeeeeek don't say that! I find Tescos are normally pretty good to be honest, and if there's something with a short shelf life they put it in a seperate bag and ask you whether you want it or not. I stopped using Asda about a year ago because of too many bad experiences ( literally getting rotten food delivered at times! ) looks as though I may have been right to stay away after all.
ammonite - I tend to do online shopping 1 - because I can keep an eye on how much I'm spending so it helps with the budget and 2 - because fundamentally I'm lazy and prefer sitting doing my shopping in my jarmies with a cuppa then having to battle my way through a supermarket!
Cottage pie last night was lovely :T We both have leftovers for lunch today, theres a mini one in the freezer for us for another night and there's another load in the tub for tomorrows lunch. I'm running out of tubs!!
Went to make some cookies last night for hubbys lunchbox but my scales broke  I'm lost without them, I use them every day so I'm going to have to buy some new ones. Dinner tonight is paprika chicken a la the hairy bikers and I think there should be enough for 3 meals for us so plenty to stock up the freezer

Evening all
I'm unbelievably tired tonight, this not sleeping malarky is really starting to get annoying
So haven't done much today really ( well obviously except work! ) hubby and I made tea together so not as much work for me, though have to say I was a little disappointed with it, it's the first recipe I've tried out of the book I'm not so keen on so not too bad, though have 4 more portions to get through!
Really fancied a biccie with my cuppa but the lack of scales/motivation to make them means I'm having to go without booooo
Think I'll ring sainsburys tomorrow to confirm they got the OP on the loan I made and to check the new balance. Still trying to play around with figures to see if I can magic up some money from somewhere to be able to make an OP on the mortgage but don't think its going to happen. Paid the rest of our holiday off which was £260 so don't have much spare cash at all this month.
Off for a really early night and hoping I get some Zzzzzzz so g'night all!!New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

Did you have a good sleep? I too went to bed at 9.30pm for the first time since I was ten and slept through until 7am..must have really needed it!
Great news that you have paid off the holiday!0 -
Morning
Didn't sleep too bad, though I think hubby was fighting someone in his sleep as he kept lashing out and hitting the mattress (???) so that woke me up a few times. I think the 10 hour day at work yesterday didn't help either. We've both got up this morning feeling a bit rough with sore throats so think we might be getting colds or something.
Reaaaallly cold this morning, did not want to get out of bed when the alarm went off! All the bad food scoffed over the weekend has caught up with me and I've put on 2lbs so need to be a bit stricter with my food again! Got leftovers from last night for lunch today and making italian meatballs for dinner tonight so at least I know the calorie content for those, just need to avoid snacking!
My scales have miraculously come back to life, hurrah :T so may bake hubby something tonight if I can be bothered
Saw a robin on the bird feeder this morning, first one I've seen this autumn, I always think thats a sign winters setting in.New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

Well it's official folks, after a week of feeling generally crappy it would appear I have the dreaded lurgy!! Had a lovely moment at work today where I threw up and a chunk of carrot got stuck in my nose
So suffice to say today I've been rather unproductive and just want to hide away and feel sorry for myself for a whileThough hubby has same dreaded lurgy so I'm not getting any sympathy off him and have no-one to whinge at and bring me cuppas
I have no medicinal biscuits or cakes either as everyone knows they're a great healing aid right.... oooh but I think I have hot chocolate!!
Decided to start having a play around with a budget ap I downloaded a few weeks ago after reading ammonites thread and it prompting me to have a look. Seems straight forward so going to see how it goes, though I do love my spreadsheets and input everything there so not really sure if it's gonna be worth it or not.
Decided to transfer £9.98 into my OP pot as I had 2p in there and thought may as well round it up ( well the logic seemed.... well logical to me! ) I just couldn't bare the thought of not being able to OP anything on the mortgage this month!! Not going to OP that just yet though, going to wait a couple of weeks and see if I manage to squirrel away any more money to go in there.
Right going to go and make myself a cuppa and see if I can find some marshmallows to go with itNew House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

I've been playing with the envelope app too - took a while to get used to but think it will be handy. I plan on transferring the info to spreadsheet as needed.
Sorry to hear you feel poorly - especially the carrot incident. That has to be the worst part of being sick. Luckily with the morning sickness I've only had a cornflake incident at worst!:rotfl:
Hope you feel better soon!0 -
Yeah its one of the unpleasant side effects of being sick, not that any part of it is pleasant in the first place though!
At work but not sure how long I'm going to last, feel rubbish and woke up with a sty so my eye is swollen, so looking gooood at the moment lol
Mortgage payment came out this morning but they took less than my normal payment because of the OP last month  so I've made an OP this morning to take it up to the amount it should be and paid a little extra as I wanted a nice round number, so I paid £130 over but the OP amount is £18.24 lol weird amount but better than nothing!!New House... Nothing to report except I've been completely rubbish the last few days!!! Feeling rather sorry for myself, I'm loaded with cold and have barely got an hours sleep a night the last few nights. Was supposed to be going on a chocolate making course with my sister today but had to drop out and gave my place to her partner instead, was really gutted I couldn't go, I was really looking forward to it but just couldn't face it and wasn't even sure I'd have been allowed to do it with it being a professional kitchen, not sure they'd want me sneezing and coughing everywhere
Went shopping today and spent a ridiculous amount of money ( almost £65  ). All because I just couldn't be bothered, haven't made a meal plan and went without a list. Did have to stock up on teabags and cooking oil which accounted for £7.50 of it which will probably last at least 4 months, maybe 6 if I'm lucky, but the rest was just buying things cos I fancied them. Did buy a few things to put into the charity bins, they're doing a drive at the moment to collect food for those struggling in the local community so at least thats something I've done thats positive.
So yeah pretty rubbish week and feeling really annoyed with myself for being so useless.New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

I'm sorry to read that you're still not well choc_chick and missed out on your chocolate making course - hopefully you will have another opportunity to attend at a later stage? (this type of course is RIGHT UP MY STREET!)
It's rotten that you had to go supermarket shopping when you are feeling under the weather AND you were were still mindful of the charity bins, so I would say that you are absolutely not useless - despite feeling unwell you are extremely kind and thoughtful:T
I hope you have a better night's sleep tonight, and start feeling more like yourself soon.
Take care X
