I'm struggling to understand how they have calculated my loan balance, can anyone help??
Loan amount was £7500 received at beginning of June
APR is 5.9% and was due to be repaid over 24 months @ £331.50 per month. According to my documentation total interest on the loan would be £457.20.
Payments have been taken in July, August and September and mid September I made a loan overpayment of £1000.
They said that my loan balance was £5962.54 less an interest rebate of £97 so my current loan balance is £5865.34.
I've tried going on loan calculators online but none of the figures seem to match what they're saying :huh:New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

Sorry I can't help with the loan CC but if you post on the loans board they might be able to help you out.
I am looking forward to my money shuffle later too0 -
Thanks for the tip ammonite, I think they've just added all the interest on from the outset so makes more sense now someone kindly cleared it up for me over on the loans board
Enjoy your money shuffle!!
Well today has NOT been an MSE day at all! Lunch at the pub for me and hubby, a bottle of wine bought from the local shop which is calling me from the fridge to open it ( to be fair though I haven't bought a bottle in weeks!! ) and a dominos pizza ordered because we fancied a pizza and I've never tried a dominos but there's one just opened near us. I got a code for 50% off but still spent rather alot todaywill have to reign this in a bit now for the benefit of my waist and wallet!! Bought the stuff to make my grans cake so will get up a bit earlier to make that, assuming I don't have a hangover off the wine! Then off to see her at lunch time for a granny tea
Sunday I've got the house to myself as hubby is off on a "man date" with his mate :rotfl: So a day of watching whatever I want on the TV, maybe have a little pamper session... bliss!!
Right now where's that corkscrew....New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

Thanks Samtoby
Well got an absolutely AWFUL nights sleep last night. Ended up awake most of the night having what felt like heart palpitations and ended getting myself all panicky and not being able to breath properly. I think it was a combination of the wine ( about 3/4 of a bottle ) and the pizza ( too much salt? ). I've not had either in weeks and I'm not in a hurry to again if thats what it does to me! Feeling bloated and tired this morning
So upshot is I've been up for aaaages now ( though hubbys yet to emerge! ). Cake is cooling so I can ice it but haven't done much else and really should, there's a mountain of dishes in the kitchen that I'm avoiding and washing to be hung out. Don't want to wake hubby up though as he was trying to help me through the night so I kept him awake poor thing.
Think I'll jump in the shower, have a cuppa then tackle the house before picking my sister up and going to see my gran. Dinner tonight is going to be a much healthier sea bass fillet with new potatoes and corn on the cob, hopefully a few days of healthy eating will put me right again. Which reminds me I've got a shopping delivery coming at some point today, best check what time!New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

Hi choc_chick
I have just finished reading your diary - I love it, it's so chatty:)
I read an article a few months ago that (junk food) can affect blood sugar levels, which bring on palpitations similar to panic attacks - I wonder if perhaps the combined sugar in your wine and pizza was the cause?
I can completely empathise with this, as I have experienced similar and it is the most awful feeling (at times I thought I was having either a heart attack or a stroke, which may sound a tad melodramatic, however at this regularly happened just as I was away to drop off to sleep, and I really thought there was something seriously wrong).
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I paid more attention to my diet (after visit to doctor!), and the symptoms have eased off.
Take care of yourself and I hope this was just an awful one-off experience for you.
PS. Thank you for the reminder about 'Twinks Hobnobs' - I have a batch cooking just now!

C'mon nattypants:cool:0 -
A friend of mine told me to cough if I got palpatations, apparently it can sometimes stop them! Anything is worth a go. Would it set your mind at ease going to the GP and having an ECG? I hate having them, they worry me but apparently unless you are having more than 500 per day it's nothing to worry about (that is not sound medical advice, I read it somewhere once and it made me feel better).
Your Dominoes did sound good though
So does your cake0 -
Thanks nattypants, I do have a tendancy to ramble on a bit so glad someone finds it interesting! I definitely think you're right about junk food bringing it on. I've been on a healthy eating kick for about a month now so everythings been home made, low calorie and I think maybe it was a shock to the system. I have felt a little unwell all week just feeling sick and tired so that probably didn't help things either. I always find myself having to drink pints of water when I have a takeaway pizza so I'm sure it must be too much salt or something
Ammonite if I get them again I might, but I really think it was down to too much unhealthy food/wine that day! Even though the pizza was yummy at the time I'm not in a hurry to get one again, back to homemade pizzas for me! Cake went down really wellBless my aunt even insisted on taking a photo of it lol I'd decorated it with some gold glitter and whole walnuts so it did look quite pretty. Refrained from having a bit myself though, came back home and had to go for a lie down for a few hours as I was feeling sick again. Wish I would just blooming be sick and get it over with rather than constantly feeling sick!!
Anyways hubbys off out on his "man date" now so I have the house to myself for most of the day :T Pottering on getting some washing and housework done at the mo as absolutely nothing got done in the house yesterdayThen I might bake something and spend some time reading up on some of your lovely diaries as I haven't really had much chance to over the last few days.
Heating is on today, really feels like winter is setting in now, but I'm drying clothes on the radiators while its on so at least it's being more useful than just heating the house. Got really excited before as there was a blue tit on our bird feeder and so far all we've had is sparrows ( which are cute, don't get me wrong! ) hoping we start attracting robins as well.
Making the hairy bikers cottage pie for dinner tonight, looking forward to some nice warming comfort food ( and it's a healthy recipe as well :T ).
Delivery from Asda came yesterday and not overly impressed, meat had a short shelf life ( as in some has a use by date of today ) but unlike others they don't seem to tell you this when they deliver, I only discovered when I was unpacking. So not sure whether we'll try them again. We've now spent £58.55 on food/toiletries, £6.29 of this was on the bottle of wine I got Friday and £3.78 was on cake ingredients so I suppose I could take the £3.78 out as it was kind of a birthday present and less than I would have spent in the past on flowers but I'll leave it there for now. Have meal planned for the next 9 days and shouldn't need anything other than a top up of veggies for the guinea pigs and £7.50 of that spend was on a big box of washing powder which will last a few months so not too bad I suppose.
Anyways I've avoided this housework long enough so best get a shift on!New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

I would ring up and complain to Asda about the short shelf lives - I bet they will refund you the money. Tesco certainly would. It is the one thing that puts me off online shopping (even though I do it).0

Loving your diary chocoholic_chick :rotfl:
Online food shopping has always been a no no for me, as I work in a supermarket (not a store that does online shopping)I have seen the staff just grab the first one from the shelf and never look at the dates, as when I do the shopping I always get the item from the back of the shelf as that is where the best shelf date items should be!!
