I worked out a spreadsheet last night of how much I need in each account to be able to implement this plan....
As usual with me, it's pretty anal
priority 1 is nationwide (bills) and smile account (monthly spends)
Priority 2 is yearly spends
Anything left gets split between overpayments and priority 3 (car savings)

The dehumidifer is AMAZING!!!!!! It is louder than I was hoping so I have to switch it off when I'm practising or teaching, but the good news is....
I put the clothes horse next to it last night and ALL the clothes were dry this morning!
I don't have a tumble dryer, so often have to leave the heating on overnight to dry clothes, something which is disgustingly expensive. I even often have to have the heating on in summer, as I live in rainy Wales, and can go for weeks when I just can't hang anything outside. My gas bills are a disgrace.
Hopefully, this should sort it!!

Hi strikealight,
You're posting in the wrong place, I'm afraid. I think there's a savings and investments board on the Pure Money section. You'll get quite a lot of answers if you try posting there. Click on "new thread" and you can start your own thread with that question.
Good luck

Term has finished! Just school term left now, so I'm down to a 4 day working week instead of my usual 6 until terms kicks off again beginning of January

According to my forecast, I can get my current account at the £900 balance I need to not need the overdraft by the end of this month.
Snowballing can at last commence!

Still to buy for Christmas.....
Tree (real one, I had artificial for years due to
Demands Of The Ex; having a real tree is now non-negotiable)
Food (not a massive amount)
Drink (again, not a massive amount)
Think that's it

Balls. I'm going overdrawn tomorrow. There wasn't quite enough in there to keep me in the black all month. Nearly, but not quite. It'll come back to the black again, and hopefully next monk will be better

Is it just me, or did everybody else spend nearly a year just trying to get their finances stable after a LBM? I do feel like its only now I'm making progress even though if I hadn't worked so hard towards this point it would not have happened. I wonder if it's my fluctuating income that caused this, or whether it does really happen to other people too?
