Stupid passengers (Not my words)

I will happily fly with a so-called "full service" carrier if they can offer a comparable price. However, this doesn't happen very often to me; the only time that springs to mind was flying to southern Italy in high season, when Alitalia was cheaper than Ryanair (although much longer, as the Ryanair is the only airline that flies direct).
Having supported Ryanair many times in this site, I'm finally starting to get weary of the bare-bones flying experience. So I might start paying extra for reserved seats, or at least priority boarding...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
I used to use Ryanair frequently for travel to Germany (Stansted and Liverpool to Hamburg-Luebeck and Bremen). But I think those routes have been discontinued since, so I've had to switch to Easyjet.
Ryanair was always great in my experience, only problem is the airports can often not be the main airport of that city, and the flight times were often at inconvenient times. But the service itself was punctual and pleasant and the prices were unreal.
I got 2p return flights to Oslo for me and 2 mates. Grand total of 6p return at Xmas 2009, was amazing!0 -
Another aspect of stupid passengers, was sitting in a very hot Corfu airport on Monday. An hour before the gate was even opened a standing queue quicky started to form at the Ryanair flight gate. It quickly grew and snaked around the departure lounge. By the time the gate opened many were looking ready to keel over.
Is this normal procedure as part of the seating scrumage or were they just worried there wouldn't be enough seats and the last one on has to stand in the isles for 3 hours? judging by the thick gold chains the men were wearing I presume it was heading for Stansted which explains a lot.
I am grateful as it left plenty of the comfy seats for the rest of us to enjoy our sarnies on and watch the entertainment. When the Ryanair gate did open they were hustled on like cattle with a woman barking orders at them like some Sergeant Major.0 -
Some friends recently flew on BA as it was cheaper than Ryanair after taking into account baggage charges etc. On routes where "full service" airlines compete with the budget ones it's quite common for the "full service" airline to be cheaper when all the extras are taken into account.I will happily fly with a so-called "full service" carrier if they can offer a comparable price. People seem to do this even on airlines with pre-allocated seating! I've never noticed a difference in this on Ryanair compared to airlines who pre-allocate seats. It's like it's a pre-programmed instinct to join queue just because it exists :rotfl:sillygoose wrote: »Another aspect of stupid passengers, was sitting in a very hot Corfu airport on Monday. Well played! I bought the first round on the Ryanair flight. It was cheaper than Temple Bar!Bob_the_Saver wrote: »2 actually, I took Mrs Bob the Saver - well it was her round!0 -

Pringles make me ill. Actually, not dissimilar to Guinness.sillygoose wrote: »Hope they shared the rather steep Pringles though, what is it with the Irish and potatoes?0 -
Which is usually down to the airport rather than the airline. Ryanair tend to use quiet airports whereas BA tend to use busy ones.Ryanair's flights are on time.
Something that BA has managed to fail to do on 100% of the recent flights I have taken with them.
If Ryanair used Heathrow their bugle would get much less use.0
