    Hi Jessica,

    Congratulations on you wedding!

I got married this January and we had it all in one place so I had strappy shoes. we had a couple of photos outside but it was too cold to stay out there too long!

I used some that I already had as when I was looking couldn't find anything I wanted, I also brought a flat pair for the evening, but didn't wear them in the end.

I would suggest you wear them round the house for a while before the day, you are on your feet an awful lot. I took mine off during the photo's because I'm not used to heels and they were hurting, I had a long dress so you couldn't see. I didn't put them on again all day and my feet were really dirty!

Im getting married in february, and ive bought the most beautiful pair of rainbow club strappy sandals. My wedding is all in the one place so i wont really be outside and even if i am im sure it wont be for long.
Depending on what size of heel you are used to wearing go by that. If you are like me and can were 4inch heels all day then do it, but if you need smaller go for kitten heels!

What is a "decent" price for a photographer? The original plan for our wedding was to have a family member taking the photos, but he's unwilling to. Plan B is actually paying for one, but my mum can't believe how much people charge - nor can I. The cheapest "package" we've found so far is £650. My friend is paying £1000 for hers, which seems like very nice work if you can get it, and his photos are lovely - and they can afford it.

How cheap can it get? Other than having you lot with your cut price digital cameras bought through deals on this site.....................

My package is costing £995 it includes my album and two parwntal albums. Normally i wouldn't pay so much but i have 100% confidence in my photographer and im really really picky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to your local college/university and speak to the art department see if you could hire a 2/3/4th year photography student. It would be experience for them and you could proably work out a great price with them!!!!!!!
If everything is ok you could write them a glowing letter of reccomendation for their work!

Let us know how u get on!

Just make sure they are comfy! I don't think it really matters - although it depends on your dress, it only doesn't matter if your dress covers your shoes! If your dress doesn't cover your shoes I think strappy heels in winter is fine - you are not going to be outside very much are you?

I am not even buying new shoes, I am wearing ivory ones I bought last summer for a wedding. They were comfy all day and that is what matters.
    I'm married now! Yippee!

My dad died 6 weeks ago after a long illness, but still quite suddenly. As you can imagine things have been quite tough lately.

My fiance and I have been together now for 13 years and have 2 children, and before dad died we were talking about getting married.

We have been given the use of a freinds caravan for a week in Wales next month, and today we phoned the register office to ask for advice how we get married there and they had one vacancy for the week we are there, so we asked them to save it for us. It does seem a bit rushed but it is what we want. Getting married in Manchester would be too expensive with guests and what not and we have a very limited budget.

8 family members in all are going on this holiday, but as we only live in Manchester a few freinds and other relatives may turn up as well.

So, I need any tips you may have to keep the costs down. As far as i know we need 2 rings and a few flowers as well as the money to pay the registrar on the day (as well as legal stuff here in manc first). We don't need cars as taxis do the same thing, we dont need a venue as we are on a Haven holiday camp with nightly entertainment and dont need any meals etc as we will have a caravn full of food.

It will be a day of mixed emotions but we still want it to be special.

I have looked through some of the other threads but they talk of castles, and other lovely venues, nice cars etc etc, how to save large amounts of money .. whereas I need to spend as little as possible.

Thanks in advance .. hope I've posted in the right place

Sounds like you've got it all covered :)

I'm getting married in a castle in 8 weeks and although it does 'sound' grand, there's only 20 of us (including our children), I bought my frock for £80 and my shoes for a tenner. Our guests aren't wearing hats, there's no photographer or flowers and we're marrying in the afternoon so that we're only paying for one meal.

I think the main thing is that you're both there and that you're happy. Stuff what everyone else does, all anyone really wants on their wedding day is to get married and be happy.

Just turn up, say I do, snog and go have a bacon butty.... lovely :)

    I hope you have a lovely day x x x
Just run, run and keep on running!

You could be real tight and get your guest to pay for their own meal - we did as I was 5 mths pregnant and we needed as much money as possible for the monster.
They were told this upfront so they couldn't complain.
We got married at the registry office, went to the nearest pub for a few then walked to the restaurant and got a lift home. No honeymoon as yet though, maybe in about 10 years.

I only got my dress that morning from Debenhams for £60 and he wore this Navy Uniform.
We are still married and happy and it cost us about £180.
