The shop is on Darley St, you do need to make an appointment but chances are there won't be anyone there. They did have some accessories like mens waistcoats and tiaras and shoes but like any charity shop you've just got to be lucky. Its worth a look just to have fun and to get an idea of what styles you like.Hi thermalnermal
Hope you had a good time! Was it the Oxfam shop on the corner in Bradford centre? Do they have other accessories as well as dresses?
Thanks!0 -
After I had just about given up on finding anything, I found it yesterday. :T An absolute bargain sale dress that fits nearly perfectly, just to loose a few pounds or have it let out 1/2 an inch!
Anyway I bought it outright, didn't want to run the risk of the shop going woolworths. I took it to a friends house 'cos I don't want HTB to see it. But now I am wondering how it works with house insurance. Does anyone know in general if wedding dresses are covered?0 -
Congrats - glad you found one you liked! What style/kind did you go for in the end? With regards to insurance policies - some do, some dont, it depends upon the policy. You may need to give them a call and check/upgrade. H2B said that he thinks companies like DirectLine will upgrade to cover wedding dress for free. Also if you have wedding insurance, it may be covered for damage under that?Total for 2009: L'Oreal Lip Duo, Diary, Motability Guide
Thanks to everyone who post comps - you are all :cool2:0 -

Has anyone been there? What is it like? Is it worth going?
I am getting married in September. Going to start dress shopping in the next couple of weeks. Has anyone been to any shops in the West Yorkshire/Kirklees area which you can recommend or have good bargains?
Hi I havent been to the one in Bradford, but I did get my dress from the Oxfam in Poole, Dorset, The people in there were fantastic, the dress still had the original tags, and it only cost £220, and I love it
Good luck0 -

Hello!
My lovely boyfriend of four years proposed on Tuesday so I have been having a lot of fun looking through this thread (it's so long though!)
I was wondering how early we should start to think about plans - is two days after the engagement too soon to be thinking about dates?
Also, it will be a cross-cultural wedding: he is Latin-American and catholic, I'm not, so was thinking about having a bit of a carneval theme instead of a traditional white wedding (will have to see what he thinks and if there are any cultural things I have to do). What are your views on transatlantic unions? Should we have one ceremony here and one there or try and get everyone together in one place?
I never realised there was so much to think about, but seen some fantastic tips on here - I'll definitely be coming back as things start moving!Married Ajichombo on 17th April 2010 :j0 -
Hi money savers
I saw this request from a journalist and immediatley thought there must be some people on MSE who would be ideal to contribute their stories. Don't know about this one but often you get a small fee too so that could go towards your anniversary dinner maybe!!!! Hope this is of interest
Amazing weddings, small budgets
Did you have an amazing wedding on a tiny budget?
I am writing a story about couples who have had a stunning wedding on a very tight budget. How did you do it? Whatever your story get in touch with all the details, and see your story appear in a national glossy publication. Email me if you can help
Thanks

Hi Jayne,
Do you know which magazine this will be in as it will be a pretty useful article by the sounds of it?
Cheers,
