My loving partner suggested on new years day that we get married this year and unlike my last wedding I have have full choice over everything. with growing up I have realized that diffrent things count. So I am making 3 wedding invitations for my mum and dad, brother and sister in law and best friend...Old man is adoppted and both his perants have passed away. we want to do somewhere out of the ordinary and there was a web site I came accross that had a list of everywhere in the uk who had a licence to marry, now I cant find the site....HELP! Does anyone know the web address for the site? I had called places and not had any packages so wanted to chase them up.
Probably sounds like I am stressing over nothing but I suffer with depression and need to sort it while I am well cos you never know when you wake up and the black cloud consumes you...I thank you all now incase I forget!
dresses ordered less than £50 each ( getting prom dresses for me and 2 bridesmaids $89 from www.shopshop.com)
Getting cake from M&S and decorating it myselfe
Want to go where they can marry us and feed us on a week day(less travelling and may even be able to take the dogs so no kennel fees!
Daughter doing make up(not something I use normally)
Friend is a hairdresser
so just need a photographer0 -

JUst like to say, me and my OH are getting married in May 2009 and are trying to do things on a budget, so will be reading this thread in great depth. We have already chosen our venue (beautiful old stately home, now owned by local council and the upstairs is used as council offices!), and food (hot buffet)
One cause of contention between us is that he wanted me to hire a dress, I wanted to buy. Guess who got thier own way :rotfl: . I found a stunning dark red ball gown (i wanted a red dress!) in a shop in Doncaster reduced to £40 :money: It was a size too samll, but as I have 18 months to go best start dieting:rotfl:

Well done am sure that will work out cheaper than hiring and you can always sell it afterwards and you might even make a profit.
There are loads of brilliant tips on here. I've already saved a fortune!
Why not join the eBay my wedding challenge to raise some cash? Everyone's welcome (sorry if I'm hijacking your thread Tine:o) and I for one am not limiting myself to eBay to raise funds.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Hi all,
I'm getting married in summer 2009 - not chosen a date yet - and it's great reading all the tips in here!
I also read that the odds are good when you enter competitions for weddings - any good tips/websites that I should visit? Might as well try to get somebody else to pay for some of my wedding if I can!
Thanks

Photography:
Use a photo sharing site like Pictoma.
This site lets all of your guests upload their photos to one place. You get to see the photos they take with their own cameras instead of paying for disposable cameras.
You can also use this site if you have friends or relatives taking photos instead of a professional photographer. They upload their photos and you can order prints or download the original photos and make your own prints.0 -
Further to the thread about pictoma, i've recently created my own website for my wedding using www.weddingpath.co.uk. This is a great way to keep your guests informed - and best of all the site is free! You can enter info about your venues, any gift lists you have (or you can say here that you'd like cash instead!), and an RSVP page so that cancels out the need to send RSVP cards out with your invitations! You can also add other pages, one of them being a photo upload, so your guests can put their pics on afterwards. The website is only free until your wedding day, and £9.99 thereafter.0

Another money saving website for those that haven't heard of it is www.gumtree.com. On the right hand side, select your nearest city and you'll have access to stuff for sale, business services, community ads, etc. I found my wedding dress here (a bargain at £200) and put an advert out for a cheap wedding band (music) and had a great response. If you're raising funds, you can place your ad for free so clear out that clutter and make some money! A lot easier than e-bay, as it cancels out the need for postage.0
