Wedding Tips start here...

Hi,
Have been reading this forum for what seems like weeks! But have picked up some invaluable tips so that we can spend our hard earned cash on what is really important - our honeymoon in the Maldives!
I've been round several dress shops and found the one but then found an almost identical dress on eBay £500 cheaper. Am still a bit worried about ordering it but have contacted several of the buyers from her feedback and have decided to go for it.
I also picked up the link to vista print: http://www.vistaprint.co.uk
I registered and have received further discounts by email so you can get 250 business cards for 3.24 so if you are stingy with your wording it would be a cheap way of getting invitations done. Thats after you have ordered the free ones of course.
My main difficulty at the moment is finding co-ordinating bridesmaid dresses in red to fit an adult bridesmaid plus 2 aged 8 and 6 for a reasonable price as lets face it they won't be wearing them for long! Any help would be gratefully received.
We are having fish in bowls as table decorations so that we can put them in our pond afterwards as a reminder and was shocked to find out how much table decorations can add up to.
Other than that we seem to have most things sorted except a photographer even though the wedding is next August. May try the local photography tutor as we both hate having our photo taken and having both been married before we know what happens to the snazzy albums.
I have bought trolley tokens from eBay as favors for the guests and photo frames for the mums as they will last longer than flowers and have found a poem each to say thank you.
Will keep an eye out for any more tips and share them with you all
xxOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Sorry but I think fish in bowls as a decoration is very cruel. I know one lady on another forum who works in a hotel had the RSPCA turn up in the middle of the day to remove them as they were suffering in the heat and begining to die. Her hotel has since put a ban on any live animal being used for decoration during the day such as fish or butterflys.
Centerpieces can be done on the cheap using florists websites and places like au naturel for vases and then maybe floating just one flower such as a lily or some candles in there.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Hi
I'm a journalist. I write for the Daily Telegraph. I'm writing an article for the Money section on moneysaving weddings and I'm looking for someone who has got married (it doesn't have to be especially recently) or is getting married soon, and used some interesting cash-saving ideas. It would mean a 20-minute chat on the phone plus us using one of your photos. I'll credit this site (presuming you want me to). If you're interested, please drop me a line at gareth_rubin@yahoo.co.uk. Thanks.
If anyone is interested, we did the interview with Gareth and I got a call from the Telegraph today saying its going to be in Saturdays paper. I have no idea what its going to say. Hope its all good!

well, ok, im getting married in june, i am not thinking about anything until 3 weeks before, well of course ill book the registry office - wherever we can get one, not bothered. will just ring round till we find one.
not inviting anyone except respective children (4), and 2 witnesses. not sure what i will wear, my fellas already has a suit. The children can wear what they like.
once we have got married, we are going for a meal wherever we can get in, and if anyone from respective familes wants to join us, they can pay for the meal themselves.
Job done.... ;-)
tooooooooooooo much fussing and hassle for my liking.
am i wrong?
