Further to the thread about pictoma, i've recently created my own website for my wedding using www.weddingpath.co.uk. This is a great way to keep your guests informed - and best of all the site is free! You can enter info about your venues, any gift lists you have (or you can say here that you'd like cash instead!), and an RSVP page so that cancels out the need to send RSVP cards out with your invitations! You can also add other pages, one of them being a photo upload, so your guests can put their pics on afterwards. The website is only free until your wedding day, and £9.99 thereafter.
i have a wedding path too, great as we have family in the states we can easily update it and they can easily access it.
  • i bought my dress a few months ago from an auction house near me, they had about 80 brand new bridal dresses , bridesmaid dresses, tiaras , shoes etc so the original price tag was just under £3000 and i got it for £100 plus vat, and shoes and tiara i got for around 20 so worth checking out auction houses

  • Go to a small shop that sells wedding dresses & the like out of season........ they are quieter so have more time with you so there was no pressure. They also had great bridesmaids & flower girl dresses they weren't exactly the same but the colours were the same, as the ages of my girls were quite different the different styles worked perfectly....... be willing to comprimise a little.

It worked out that I got 75% off everything!!
2010 - nothing as we emigrated to Australia!!! :j
  • I'm getting married in May 2009, yes I know thats a long way off, we are trying not to get into debt for it, I would like to get married abroad in Italy just parents and my partners children to keep costs to a minimum, preferably in Sorrento, then coming back and getting blessed in a church in front of all of our friends followed by a party in our garden. Has anyone done anything like this, or can anyone advise on getting married abroad did you do it through a travel agents or by yourself on the internet

    Thanks
  • Hey atlast,

I am also looking into getting married in Italy.

I've recently discovered that First Choice have a wedding package in Italy - check out http://www.firstchoice.co.uk/weddings

I have no idea if they are any good or not - but the photos look superb, also - the prices are very reasonable!

Please let me know if you find out any other info!

    Thanks,
