What do you honestly think of bankrupts?

With over 40% of respondents to this poll at best thinking that bankrupts deserve what they get & at worst saying they hate them, it's not surprising some people worry about the stigma of being bankrupt almost as much as they worry about the debt itself. A Norton Finance survey found that 1 in 3 women cited the stigma as the main reason they didn't go bankrupt. It's so easy to judge others when we've never been in their position, but none of us are immune from money problems or the many other things life can throw at us that totally change how we live.
It doesn't have to be huge sums involved either. If you read this story, this poor man couldn't cope under the pressure of his creditors for a debt of under £5k. Faced with his family home being repossessed, he killed himself. In this story, another man killed himself when an original loan of £4k grew to £130k, & his wife hardly knew anything about it. The original debts were at a level that many of us have (eg for a car, home repairs), so anyone who's got that level of debt but thinks that bankrupts don't deserve any kind of sympathy or understanding should remember they have the same debt & it could happen to them too.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

It would be interesting to se what the 40% think of the sharks out there offering " solutions " to debt whilst raking in huge profits at the expense of the debtor.
Or maybe that`s ok cos it`s business.
Or how many of them have taken a risk and set up their own business
Quite frankly, if they have nothing better to do than tell us we are worthless I dont give a tosss.
I am the one with no debts - who is better off??? :T :T :T
