Not everyone will agree with you, their opinion is valid, however this is a forum for support so maybe this isn't the best place for this thread even if it is about bankrupcy.

Please be nice to other moneysavers ;)

I know not everyone will not agree, thats why Ive asked opinions.

Ill let this sleeping dog lie.

    Im always nice ... ish...:o

Oh please, don't stop posting whatever the heck you want Mike.

I, for one, enjoying reading others responses. Good or bad. I don't think because we might rebuff some replies or dissect them, it means we are any less interested or supportive. You can be supportive and still hold and voice a view or opinion.

If people don't want to read or vote, they can simply move along. This is OUR home.

Exactly - This is the spirit I think this forum has.

    Thank you. x

People can come here, from any other forum or for the first time and say whatever they choose but if they spout idiotic, prejudiced and plain insulting posts, they are going to get eaten alive I'm afraid. It's not the subject that's the reason, it's the content and the way it's posted that comes in for flack 99% of the time.

Say similar things on DFW, the benefits board or wherever and you are going to get mauled so I wish people wouldn't say, when we bite back, it's because we are feeling guilty or are closed to opposing opinions. That's bovine poop.

Ok, I'm on my soap-box now....I'm rambling and probably only making sense to myself! ;)

This is very true I have seen some really nasty posts on here recently and it's not the place, you only have to hit the abuse triangle to get it sorted. Trying to justify your position to these people is a waste of time and often results in the thread degenerating into a slanging match and ultimately being deleted which helps no-one, don't go down to their level guys!

If I see anything unhelpful or nasty I try to step in to nip it in the bud but I'm not here 24/7 and I don't see every thread so please help to keep it nice by reporting the nasty and abusive posts.

  • What do I think of bankcrupts?

I used to think that they were people would had stupidly allowed their finances to go out of control, and that it was largely their own fault. Now I am considering going bankcrupt myself, I can see that this is not generally the case.
Interestingly, not only have I become less judgemental of people with financial difficulties, I have also become less judgemental of people who have other personal difficulties, such as relationship problems. I am also not so racist, so sexist or so ageist. The experience has definately changed me.

It's better than crime I guess, tho not much, The problem should be addressed long before this being the best solution.
That may be so in certain circumstances - there are systems in place today that can offer pre-bankruptcy advice and practical help - but sometimes these systems fail.
I'm 100% certain that everyone here explored every available option before deciding on bankruptcy - and don't forget that if bankruptcy is opined as the only viable solution by professionals, then surely, to ignore that advice would be folly.
Not everyone wants to go bankrupt. Not everyone has a "spend, spend, spend" mentality.
And it takes a lot of moral courage to do it as well - far more courage than posting cynical words on a forum.

i thought putting a poll like this for no reason is going to attract good and bad comments.but just because someone makes a comment that you dont agree with, you cant shoot them down in flames.im bankrupt and i also have family members who are strongly against bankruptcy so i have heard both sides.im afraid you have put quiet alot of negative answers down on your poll,so dont be surprise if you hear things that you dont agree with.how about using this site for the purpose it was ment for ie to give advice and support.
Of course one expects negative, controversial or opposing views on such a subject as this.
Once again it's how comments are worded - it seems to me that some negative comments are deliberately engineered to cause pain and argument - that's hardly the spirit of debate, is it.
Having said that, there are people of opposing views who know how to debate as adults.
