Parking Eye - wrong vehicle
Options
I'm new to the forum! I've searched for a similar issue to mine but have been unsuccessful.
Yesterday I received a PCN from parking eye. The picture shown on the notice is obviously that of an HGV that has been parked on a motorway service station overnight. Thing is I own a Toyota Aygo which in no way resembles the picture!
Is it just another case of ignoring it?

Yes.
Obviously they have sent you the wrong image.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
I would wind them up personally.
You seem to have missed the entire parking issue section though, So are you
sure its an AYGO and not an ATEGO?
They may look simialr without your specs.
Is it your reg and did you park there?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I would also play along for a while with them in the knowledge that regardless of where it was your car or not the ticket isn't worth the paper its wrote on0

Loads of threads about Parking Eye here - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
And yes, ignore it.0 -
Thank you! My car was 40 miles away at the time, peacefully sleeping on my drive. I have to say I have had some fun with them in the form of an email entitled 'when I grow up I want to be an HGV' I've also sent them a picture of an Aygo and suggested a staff competion of 'spot the difference'0

I hope you managed to spell the word 'competition' correctly in said email ;-)0

You can't have! - There are literally hundreds of Parking Eye threads here.
And yes, for all of them the correct procedure is to ignore. Photos are not evidential here - If you check the Letter Chain sticky in the Parking Subforum, you get a very good idea of what to expect from them, so just tick them off till the end of the scam and don't worry if you get something different as PPCs do seem to be revising some letters recently but the new ones are just as meaningless as the old.0 -
I did see the parking eye posts, that is not what I mean - all the posts admitted that they had parked there and it was their vehicle. None of them mentioned that they were sent a picture of a totally different vehicle to the one they own.
Yes grogsy, I think I did - that's what comes from trying to cram everything into lunch break!:)0 -

"We're sorry but your appeal has been unsuccessful on this occasion because:
-Nonsense about correct signage.
-Nonsense about some court case from 2004.
-Etc"
I can guarantee that you will receive the above generic response.0 -

Your first mistake was contacting them. They will now hound you , hoping that you will make another and pay them.
IGNORE everything they send you0
