Ryanair's iPhone app has dropped in price today to zero. Buy it now for free and you will have it for free forever on all your iOS devices, even if the price subsequently goes back up.

However, the app isn't currently working. Upon opening, it says "Ooops... We are experiencing some problem. Please try again later".

Two weeks later, the app is still not working. My guess is that Ryanair have abandoned this app and that they reduced the price to zero simply to avoid complaints to both Apple and Ryanair about charges for a non-functioning app.

More than 20 months since the last version was released, Ryanair has today released a new version of its iPhone app. The look and feel is modern and it now supports mobile boarding passes, something that has been anticipated from Ryanair for many months. The app remains free.

I disagree. There has been incremental new information since this app was released. The fact that Ryanair has since rectified the above deficiency is no reason to start a new thread rather than to include the news of the rectification within this thread.

With the new 7 day check in rule, mobile boarding passes is a gift.... Saves faffing around getting the hotel to print your return boarding passes, or finding an Internet cafe etc... Now you only need wifi for 2 minutes and you're done.

But someone will still come on here claiming to have their holiday ruined due to not having wifi access throughout their fortnight trip.

If you want to use the boarding pass on a tablet the scaled up bar code may not work. Best to read Ryanair's terms of use for their app.
