Not much achieved today, did the assessments and passed for clickworker except the new one cos the link wouldnt work. grr,
Did a few surveys but most were just for entry in to draw, tonight i have more stuff to list on ebay and gonna spend some time on swagbucks, if i get time i may join the Amazon selling team.

Sorry if i seem a little flat, i am still very motivated. But i had a three hour operation today.
I suppose i should come clean and say I have Cancer, it started as Cervical Cancer and quickly spread to my bladder then both Kidneys and now they are worried its in my stomach. The surgery today was to remove it from my Kidneys and biopsy my stomach which thankfully apart from being red and inflammed apparently showed no obvious tumours (finally some luck!!).
I was told two weeks ago i have a less than 50% chance of surviving this as its very aggressive, but after surgery today they revised that to MORE than 50% chance, which i think is much more positive and i like much better lol.
So my motivation for clearing the debt is not only for the obvious reasons that financially its killing me ( no pun intended LOL) but but that should the worst happen i dont want to leave the debt to come from my estate which would be my pensions and my home as i want my kids to have them. What better reason could i have??
Anyway nuff of that, I am not looking for sympathy or trying to make everyone sad i just felt it was time to explain further.
Now i have i wont mention it again unless its pertinant or someone asks.
So does everyone think its better to sell Books, DVDs, BlueRays and CDs etc on Amazon or Ebay? I cant decide, i used to be indecisive but now i am not so sure. LOL
    xx

    Hello,

I am new to the website and I have logged into to see this great board. You have my full support, luck and good wishes.

On your health note, I take it you have contacted your loan people and informed them of your situation? This way they can lower your interest, freeze your payments or at least bring the amount down a little?

I did the same for my sister in law and we were able to clear alot of her debts this way before she unfortunately passed away. There are many templates on the internet to write to the loan companies if you need help. I know that you were not looking for sympathy but you have mine anyway!

Have you tried looking in CEX to trade in your music, phones?

They do really great deals and you said that you have a 15 year old son? You can get vouchers from CEX which is worth more than the cash itself instore and you are able to get him some great cheap games, dvds etc.

You might not get as much as you get from Ebay or Amazon but at least then you know exactly how much you will get. Getting vouchers also means that you get more instore for like birthdays and christmases.

Well done on your start and good luck on the journey!
  • Thanks xx

My loan company Webb Resolutions is fully aware of my situation, i have filled out the debt and mental health form and sent it to them a few years ago, as for the cancer i have informed them about this too and they basically said sorry for you but no change in payments.
But TBH i want shot of the bloomin thing so i would rather just pay it off i full ASAP anyway

MY NSD is going great, also been invited to stay at Mums who lives about half an hour from me on Friday night and Saturday during day, so no meals required on those days other than tea on Saturday when we get home.
Small saving but still a saving

    Good afternoon

I have been reading other posts and have seen repeatedly about facebook selling, can anyone tell me how its done please?

So far its a NSD :j

    Hiya,
I didn't see anyone respond on your facebook selling question? My wife has sold a bundle of stuff through our local selling group page. You basically just need to find a group relevant to your local area and then it's as simple as posting a pic, clarifying what it is and what you want for it. Then it's first come first served really. It's kind of like a local ebay without the selling fees :)
Obviously you need to be doubley careful with handing out your number and address etc, but we've never had any issues.
Definitely worth a try in my opinion.

    Best of luck with everything
  • Thanks Robsburns

Might try some books on there cos they dont seem to sell on Ebay and i think its cos of the increased postage costs.

On the plus side i have currently sold 34 items on ebay, they dont end till tonight so no total yet but am pleased.

Saturday was a NSD and so far so is Sunday, so thats 3 NSD this week, think i will aim for 3 or 4 NSDs a week.

  • Right I have finally stopped mopping and crying, had a meeting with myself and this behaviour cannot continue

I got my results from the last surgery i had on friday, on the plus side they got good clearance on the kidney tumours and the bladder tumours had hardly come back at all but the stomach biopsies came back inconclusive, i asked what that meant and was told it means they are not clear and that they wont make a decsion till they do them again, am so upset, i really thought my luck had changed, the thought of the tumours being in my stomach too fills me with horror, i cant stop shaking, next step, tell my family, i hate this bit, grrrr, then prepare myself for more surgery

Today Tuesday I made my first full complete payment to Webb in over 12 months, i have also told them i will be paying at least £50 0ff the arrears a month. They have ceased any further action on the proviso i do this, i hope to do better but didnt wanna shoot myself in the foot.
I am really pleased that i have made this step forward and feel i am really on the path now.

Well done. Only promise what you know you can manage, even if that means holding a bit in reserve.
It sounds like your debt issues, while dreadful, are nothing compared to health issues. Maybe tackling your debts is adding to a sense of purpose, which can be uplifting. But please don't ever think that those debts are more important than your health. Also, remember that Webb don't set all the rules and they certainly are not to be trusted to advise you on your rights: They can say that they won't chase you if you pay x amount, which implies that they will if you fail to meet those payments. Much of what they say or imply may be bluster. So long as you are making a real attempt to abide by a decent payment schedule, they will hopefully avoid rocking the boat with any agressive legal action. Ultimately the law may be on your side more than you realise. Don't rely on Webb to tell you your rights, because they have a vested interest. They sound a bit callous too, which makes them the enemy :p

Also, take some time to read up on enforcement shenanigans, especially where 'debt collectors' behave like 'bailiffs' to bully you into paying up.

    You're an inspiration :A
    Take care,
    JJ
