It's not a fine and it won't go anywhere near a court . Stop worrying.

You will find a picture of that letter in the third from top thread along with the whole letter chain. It's just a matter of playing snap.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

We have all been there and ignored a fake PCN or two (I have ignored two myself, easy).

Just play snap with the letters as they will match the pictures in our third from top thread 'PPC letter chains'. Soon they will all fizzle out.

But I would just complain to the retailer otherwise they will not know about your boycott and may think the parking situation is hunky-dory. It is only a number of complaints to the onsite companies - and a realisation about how this scam affects custom - that are likely to get PPCs kicked out of car parks.

But that's already in the 'letter chains' link I have ALREADY given and then just provided two more pointers to, right above your post! EVERYONE gets those letters threatening Court, that's the point of showing newbies the link to the preview pics so you can see it's all a well-known scam.

Did you not click on the links I gave above, or even look at the letter templates these scammers use, and find your letter on there? :(

When dealing with "tickets" from private parking companies (PPCs) our advice is to ignore them as long as the registered keeper is you or a relative; the registered keeper will just get more junk mail, that's all. Ignoring the fake PCN includes ignoring the letters and playing snap with them!

The letters to ignore are easy when they arrive at the address of someone who knows it's all hogwash and not a real parking ticket at all.

The whole scam of fake PCNs relies firstly on people's ignorance of the fact that a random private company can't fine anyone, and secondly on their natural fear of parking tickets and the escalating costs/bailiff scenario. So PPCs copy the look of a real parking ticket and - hey presto! - the cash rolls in from victims who know no better.

There is no fine, no CCJ, no bailiff, no debt, no effect on credit rating, not Court, no repercussions at all.

Here are the links AGAIN...yawn...twice in one thread page! Please read the threads & links & info!

If they sent letters saying "We wont do anything but we would like you to pay us" I don't think there would be many takers, so they issue threats of court action, luckily that's all it is!
