Says it on the back of the contract papers, with "Your right to cancel"

Just rethinking my previous post and looked at Vodafone t&c online as I missed the bit about the Internet use. (Don't know why as that was your main complaint. Getting old, I guess.)

Vodafone's returns policy doesn't actually state anything about paying for any calls made during the cooling off period. Nor anything about internet use.

I don't know if the back of your contract actually spells out that there would be no charges if you returned the handset - obviously you would have had to pay for any overseas calls or premium numbers.

To minimise you future exposure etc and for £30 at worst, I would pay the bill then dispute it. Your credit record is worth more than £30.

    Up to you though.

ps. Vodafone Rep is currently dealing with a point on another thread, so contact her.

    Hi Widelats,

If you cancel and return within the seven day cooling off period, you will be charged pro-rata for the time you had the phone as you were using the services.

If you believe that the charge for this time was incorrect, I will be happy to look into this further and make any adjustments needed if we are incorrect.

As grumbler has mentioned, I would never suggest cancelling the direct debit as a way of disputing charges as it can have a negative effect on your credit file and can be very difficult to resolve.

Get in touch with me via the link shown here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject and I will get in touch to discuss it further. Please also include a link to your post and a contact number.

    Hello Heidi,

The contact form is asking me what my phone number is, i have forgotten as i haven't used it for weeks, i only have my T-Mobile pay and go number its all i use now.

The charges were incorrect, i paid off a previous contract phone which was over £100, this was by direct debit, paid in full, so it released me from the contract fully, and for months afterwards Vodafone customer services were trying to take another £100 saying it was what i owed - i had already paid it!!!!

I had enough of customer services i can send you a private message with my T-Mobile number though, and my contact email, however, as for going through Vodafone contact i can not do this, it keeps asking for my phone number and won't send.

    Thanks.
    Owed out = lots.

I'd suggest contacting Heidi as she suggests. It won't be the end of the issue if your credit rating is trashed, as I suspect it will become if you don't sort things.

    Hi Widelats,

Did you receive an email reference number from the email you sent?

I can't see it in the inbox.
