For Sale Board Stolen

Hi everyone

Needing advice on what I can use instead of cable ties on for sale board?

For the 3rd time in 2 weeks our board has had it's ties cut off and the board stolen. There are 2 other for sale boards by other estate agents and neither of these have been touched.

Thanks

Is that not the EA's problem? You could always use chains but it wouldn't look very good to viewers! How about putting the board out of reach on the property?

Where is the board situated? Could a neighbour be aggrieved if it appears to be on their property?

You have 3 for sale signs outside your house?
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire

I would let the EA/board company worry about it (presuming you're not selling privately). Have you called to tell them?

If someone's that intent on getting your board off, they'll probably just take a saw to it if you do secure it with something 'better' than cable ties!

Is it a private house, or a block of flats?

  • Could it be that one of the other estate agencies is removing the sign? I've heard of such stories.
  • Can you ask for a spare board to place in a front facing window inside your house?

Can't suggest anything that wouldn't be cut as easily as cable ties.

Can you re-site it out of arm's reach?

It has to be said - do you get along with the other neighbours who are also selling....?

It also has to be said; any rival neighbour or agent would have to pretty darn stoopid to even think about sabotaging another's board; where's the finger of suspicion going to point first?

I'm assuming of course that the other two boards are for different properties that are also for sale, not that you have three agents acting for you.....

Someone doesn't want you to move...Did yours go up for sale after one of the others in the street?

I was going to put mine up in Sept last year after kids went back to school and had started the sprucing up etc...the next door neighbour's board went up last week in August. I was gutted because I thought it would look bad that 2 houses next door to each other were up for sale at the same time (implying bad street/area)
