Aaahh yes and the narrow minded, over defensive insulting logic of the omnivore
OK. Lets look at the facts:-
There was nothing in anything that I have said that was insulting.
Could I suggest you look at your teeth in a mirror, what you will see are the teeth of an omivore, YOU are an omnivore ! and me, as you quite rightly state. If you had teeth like a cow/sheep/horse, I could understand you - lucky you weren't born to an Inuit family and being forced to live on a diet of 100% seal meat. !
I really am not bothered if you wish to exist on a vegetarian diet, any more than if you wish to become a Muslim, Christian, Hindu, believer in UFOs/crop circles or whatever else !
All I ask is that you and your kindred folk don't try and convert me to your ways by trying to make me feel guilty/ashamed or even frightened.
I note that several posts already use the word "defensive" to imply that those nasty brutish meat eaters are already feeling guilty about their evil addiction.
I do not believe in a Greater Being, I really don't understand why grown, intelligent people would want to go to a Church/Mosque/Temple/Chapel or stone circle and sing songs to something that I can seen no evidence of whatsoever. However - if they wish to do that, fine ! I certainly wouldn't try and persuade them that my point of view was better than theirs was. Why they keep coming to my front door to make me worship their "god" I really can't understand. If there was a life after death, full of milk and honey, I would want it to be kept for the select few, not invite the general rabble in as well.
I am not trying to persuade you that my eating meat is a better way of living that yours - all I said originally was that the song referred to in the OP could be taken as offensive by meat eaters. Also what is the purpose of getting this song back into the charts ? to convert people, I presume.
I referred to you as a Zealot: that was meant in the sense of the term "a person showing excessive zeal" , the same dictionary goes on, "extremist, crank, bigot, fanatic". The problem is too many stray from one meaning to another. Can you explain the logic of someone who is willing to kill a human being because that person conducts medical tests on animals ?? I really have to shake my head in disbelief at these people.
Why can't you accept that lots of people hold different points of view without you having to try to "convert" them ?
I must finish now, I am taking my daughter to see some "Bare Naked Ladies", I think they are awful - but I didn't try and convert her to Dolly Parton !Look at the teeth !!

What the hell does this thread have to do with being green or saving money anyway?!
I shall not be buying the song because:

Wow, this has spun wildly out of control !
Can we settle it with a sword fight, vegans can have a sword made from birch bark, omnivores can have a sword made from pork.
One of you will come to a sticky end.0 -

Ah that old chestnut again.
Do go to https://www.veganvillage.co.uk click on vegan contacts and scroll down to 'veggie vision' Click on 'start watching mini programmes' then click on the entertainment channel and watch the two part interview with James Gold, spinal specialist now body builder. They're not too long and I feel worth watching considering his medical background.
'Quote' from Gary Francione Distinguished Professor of Law and Philosophy at Rutgers University, USA..."We do not regard it as appropriate to treat any human as a commodity. We accord every human, irrespective of her/his intelligence or other characteristics, the right not to be treated as the property of another. There is no morally sound reason to deny this right to non-humans. We should accord to all sentient non-humans the right not to be used as a commodity. Non-humans have an interest in continued existence and we must protect that interest with a right if we are not to be speciesists.'Unquote'
Hope that may be of interest to someone...or not...as I've no doubt the case may be.Official DFW Nerd Club Member no:219In the Court Of The Crimson KingI don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.Gary Larson0 -
I was referring to mjr600 (who's staying strangely silent), perhaps all that animal protein is addling your brain vicky? Nice vegan diet might clear your head
I was confused because mjr when i am quite plainly not, the Vicky part of the name might give it away and that i was blamed for starting all this when i only posted at the bottom of page one and then i was accused of keeping quiet about your question that you havent even asked me !!!!!!!!
I am no longer confused as i now know that you are blatantly mad!The glass is always half full, no exceptions !!:D

you are speaking to me as if i have some connection to this other guy by using my quote ibn your post to him and then you ask me not to respond. You need some oily fish, 3 portions a week.
The glass is always half full, no exceptions !!:D

lol I quoted you and put the 'passive aggressive' in response to your post then went on to talk to mjr in the next paragraph.
It's not usually necessary to use a new post each time you're speaking to a different member!
I never blamed you for anything, if you calm down and read the thread properly you might realise that and stop being so accusatory towards me!
Maybe you'd be more laid back if you ate some bacon!0
