All this talk of families seems to be close to a lot of our hearts.

Most of us have lost loved ones, a few of us have lost loved ones in the last 12 months.

I lost a loved one 9 months ago and never got the chance to say goodbye, something I deeply regret. I wouldn't wish that feeling on anyone as every single day I think about my loss and what I could or should have done.

A life, any life touches peoples hearts, souls and minds and yet it can be taken from us so easily.

So its an easy choice to me. Forgive, forget as best you can, that way your not full of regrets when its too late to do anything about it.

Mum and Dad have been married for 68 years! It has worked purely because she has always been submissive to him and he has revelled in the power of control. Many of my childhood years are memories of his making mum cry, endless moaning sessions between my mum and grandmother about him, mum making plans to leave him which she always found an excuse to avoid (usually involving me reaching various milestones), mum's endless silent visits to "coventry" for schoolgirl errors (didn't open the kitchen window while boiling potatoes was a common one). Watching girls go by with his airman pal Harry they spotted my mum and her chum and my dad insists on repeating that he said to Harry "that one's mine". They married within the year. Doesn't that sound a romantic tale? The reality was he was a controlling bully and I find it so hard now watching him hold her hand in apparent ignorance of the past. When I try and talk now of how I feel, my mum shusshes me. I will never get closure on this.

Your post made me cry. I can understand where you are coming from. It was a different time, a different era when this sort of behaviour was, quite often, the norm. It doesn't make it right but, for your own sake, try to be there for them both. It will eventually help you have closure. Sending you lots of love and hugs. x

morning all,been trying to keep up but not been feeling too good ,life sucks at time but i've just read MAG's post & realise my problems are insugnificant (sp) compared to what she's going through,.no wonder you felt so hurt by your fathers actions & those of your sister,losing a child is every parents worst nightmare & not to have the support & help of those closest must have been hard to cope with whilst your loss of Chloe was so raw ,Can you not ask your husband or another relative to talk to your sister,does she visit your mum in hospital or your see your dad .Your there for your mum & she appriciates that ,your sister sounds quite selfish ,but she should try to help with your parents ,whats that saying 'what goes around comes around 'how would she be if her children didnt bother with her when she 's elderly ,or what if something happened to one of her children. You can hold your head high MAG,your a lovely person ,its your Dad & sister who need a shake for their selfish behaviour .

CL (((hugs))) it sounds as though things are still bad for you.

I too "believe what goes around comes around" and that all people who do bad things to others will get their come uppance at some stage in life.

good morning sunny here but really freezing outside.
been catching up over the last few days and am at page 65 now.
need to go out to shops so hopefully catch up later when i get back.
just wondered if all the regulars have managed to get the new mags from Ts. my stores have them, never did get the car ones so really surprised when i saw the new ones in all the stores i visit
can pick up a few extra if needed
