Morning Hester and all,
I'm so glad the weekend is over i can breathe now hubby has gone back to work. He bought himself a new phone yesterday which hopefully will keep him happy for longer than 5 minutes.
Beautiful sunny day here, i havent done my garden duties yet. I'm a bit behind on my dailies today but theres no rush. I just need easing into them gently though i want to just go back to bed.:o

Morning & good luck to everybody back in school this week, staff & children (I still get a nice feeling of relief I don't need to go back to work at school, and its now 6 years since I finished
)
Quite nice here today but def autumnal.I've been missing most of the weekend due to a family wedding (DH cousin),lie in yesterday due to neighbours alarm going off most of the night on Sat ,then DGD here yesterday and we took her visiting:j,so I hope everyone is ok.
Elona hope DD feels better soon, likewise your son Hilstep-hope its not MS.Your DGD is adorable by the way.
Wuvvies-I would def have more time off,its not safe for you to be carrying big pans of boiling water etc,for a start, never mind the pain you would be in-you don't want to cause yourself long term or even permanent damage by doing too much so early after a bad break.
nmlc  at the garage door.Hope its sorted soon without any falling out.
I need a big tidy up,I changed my mind over what to wear for the wedding,so did DH,:D so there are outfits all over the bedroom.I also want to tidy the shed to put some of DGD bigger toys that she has finished with-walker etc till we decide what to do with them. They are taking up most of the space in the small sitting room, consequently we are hardly using it.There isnt that much in the shed, just needs a good sweep out so while its nice I'll do it.
Tea is already in the slow cooker,I had braising beef for today and found a jar of beef rendang paste from MnS that I thought would do nicely with some coconut milk, the men are a bit fed up with beef stew, though they like it we have had it a fair bit lately.
I need to make some bread as we have none left.Stocked up a bit on bread flour when I did my Lid! shop.
Welcome to 2tonsils,I'm another who finds it really interesting to read on news from posters abroad. It saddens me to hear how bad it has got in Greece,we had some of our best hols in Corfu in the Kassiopi region and the people were great. Not been for about 6 years though:(
Right,on with the tidying!!!:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hi everyone.:hello:
Brainfog is bad this morning, so I'm using a Word.doc to do my replies as I read the thread.;)
So, to start with....
Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs 2tonsils:beer:
Hoppy Birdday Mr nmlc:beer:
Nmlc, you are totally right to be angry – I'd be spitting neutrinos if that was me. I hope they stump up without delay.
Elona poor DD; hope she's OK and it doesn't turn out to be anything serious.
Wuvvies I'd be seeing what the medical bods have to say before deciding on going back to work; if it's still hurting you like that, how can you do your job? I certainly don't think you should be even considering lifting heavy pans of boiling water! Have they given you any exercises to do t get the muscles back into shape again?
Hilstep fingers crossed that your DS doesn't have MS; but I think it's a good idea to get tests done – that way you know one way or the other what's happening.
Julie67 Ouchy! Poor DS – healing vibes for him.
Mr LW helped me defrost the freezer part of the fridge/freezer yesterday, so hopefully that'll work a bit more efficiently now. The fridge bit had been taking ages to get down to it's allotted temperature, and Mr LW is making noises about replacing it.
He also wants to buy a new desktop pc:eek: which I'm trying to get him to defer for a bit, as I need a new hearing aid; scheduled to have a chat with the audiologist next month on the 9th and see what's available. The one I have is quite ancient now, and the tech is no longer supported. Best to get it now, I guess, before DLA disappears and becomes just a fond memory.:D
Still, as I said to Mr LW last night, at least we're debt-free and mortgage-free, so whatever else happens, whatever we can't have extra, what we've got is all paid for.:T
I've been making myself put my DLA away as savings and just live on my Civil Service pension, as once the government have done, that's all the income I shall have, so I figure it's a good plan to get into practise.;)
No cooking today:T - I made a quiche yesterday, so we'll have the 2nd half of that for dins tonight.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
thanks for replies
yes im doing excercises daily but i cant straighten my arm and cant turn my palm over either. will need 1-1 physio which will start soon as the excercises have got a lot of movement back but not enough.
if you understand what i mean i have another 45 degrees to go before my arm is straight0 -
Lamewolf - i never knew you wore hearing aids too. do you wear the one or two? i have two and have never really "known" anyone else who wears them"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0

Hi everyone, back to fully functioning again.
Skye on the other hand is on anti-bifrollics, due to the wound starting to get infected due to a knot coming to the outside.
Just a heads up forvthose off to Uni, i went to pay a cheque into Santander today, and they said they had a new student account which gives them £50 when opening. The cheque was for the excess on the car repairs as the insurance company in Spain have accepted liability:D
Slung the chicken carcass in the SC last night, not for soup stock, but for Syke to add to the dry biscuits to make a change now and again. Cheaper than buying pouches of puppy food from Asda, but even they are spread over 3-4 meals.
Still enough LO roast dinner for tonight (always do whatever there is then it saves time & trouble later) and one portion of chicken, so will find something to go with that.
Hope DD is OK Elona an DS Julie, and DS is clear
Happy Birthday to Mr nmic
Our Dutch neighbour in Spain has 2 hearing aids Lou, we know that he takes them out sometimes, so if he doesn't answer us but is not facing us we know why. The neighbour who looks after the house for us when we are in Spain also needs them, but she gets eczema in her ears so cannot wear them at times.
Right better go and shake a leg, as the extra vet trip has eaten into the day.
Take care all, spoons ((hugs)) hi-5's as needed/wanted. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Aww, DG poor little Skye; healing vibes for her.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
