Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 3rd September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I've been up since 4:30, aargh, still nevermind I've pottered around so I'm a bit ahead of myself now.
Hubby is working 'til 9:30ish tonight & most of this week so he'll have a lie in in the morning, but I'll be up at 6ish as I start back full time tomorrow.
We had a lovely time yesterday with the outlaws, unfortunately we couldn't stay long as hubby was called back to work at 6, having already worked 7-12.
Plans for today include changing the bed & mopping the bathroom floor with my new mop.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and everyone else
Been up for a while (DD wet the bed, clean and dry, back to sleep, but wide awake mummy!), so done a few jobs, will set washer in a minute.
Need to pop into town this morning, finish ironing, sort DS' PE bag etc for tomorrow, decide on tea (defrosted mince, but DH fed up of spag bol, shepherds pie and chilli, so open to suggestions!), and do a major tidy up of downstairs rooms after summer hols.
Happy Monday, higs and kisses to those in need.

Good morning Hester, Cheapskate and to those who cross/follow,
It's a bit dull here at the moment. I hope it brightens up, washing to hang out.
Need to hoover through today. Get some baking done. DD didn't fancy doing any in the end yesterday.
I'm having my hair trimmed and a colour put on this morning. It just costs me the price of buying a colour as ds gf does it.
Haven't decided on tea yet, possibly bbq chicken drumsticks with jacket potato and salad.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning all :j:j
Looks nice out this morning
The twin are off to my wife's mums house today. My wife is off to work. Iv got to go and get a bit of shopping. Cat food is the main item as we only have enough left for them to eat this morning.
Lunch for me today will be pork pie and salad. I picked the pork pie up in co-op on Saturday reduced. Its a quite a large one. So will last me today and tomorrow. Best before is today but I'm sure It wont kill me eating some of it tomorrow. I really don't know why that put such tight dates on some things.
The chickens are doing great and laying really well.
Its count down here for the Twins, Come the end part of this week they will be all grown up and on there way to school:) Starting the next part in there life!:T:T
Well I hope that everyone is well.
Enjoy your day everyone:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -

Good Morning everyone well normality is back on the scene this morning with two of the boys back at school and another one tomorrow and the third on Wednesday so my life will hopefully return to its routine and maybe I will get my housework sorted out and I can get on with some jobs indoors that have been put to one side for the past 6 weeks.I know I have a pile of ironing to get through as I did three wash loads over the weekend, but that can be done whilst watching t.v. tonight.I have lots of small admin jobs to do today, mostly renewing my visitors parking permit and picking up my renewed blue badge.I also have library books to take back and a prescription to drop into the drs for renewal.Everything seems to be running out over the next two weeks I also have to send of my congestion charge renewal today or tomorrow or I'll have to pay an extra £10.00.Still I'll have Jack and Henry with me today as my little helpers as Henry doesn't start his new school until tomorrow. They said they would help pull some weeds from the garden which will keep them busy for a little while.NSD for me as I am staying away from shops if I can to save some extra cash.I did all my accounts yesterday so September maybe a slightly leaner month for me as lots of annual bills have come in as well House insurance etcI had a nice pile of envelopes with windows when I came home on Saturday from my holiday so I have sorted them all out and been busy writing cheques,I'll even have to go and order andother cheque book from my bank as well.Right off to get into the shower then round to sort the tribe out.have a good day everyone what ever you are doing Its supposed to be warm in Kent today ,at the moment its warm but very cloudy
Take care all

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Very light cloud covering with loads of blue sky, so sun trying to get out, forecast says sunshine all day, we'll see! DH up and off to work stupid early, did get up with him though to wish him Happy Birthday a la Hester style!!
Washing on the line. Yesterday was a more restful day, DH and boys went to collect his work van in the morning and visited both sets of parents whilst he was out, they live really close to each other and near to his work. I had a couple of hours of peace, so I cracked on with getting lunch ready and cooking, laid the table etc, also organised todays lunches - really got ahead of myself so once lunch was finished I didn't really need to do anything - so spent some time on pc and chilled. DH and boys then tidied the shed and so now that looks much better and is much more user friendly! Also managed to set up computer to watch the GP - computer desk is in the dining room, so now all meals will be eaten at the table as we can use the computer to watch whatever.
Boys will be staying at home today, FIL is coming over later to be here when the company come to look at the garage door damage, we've come to the conclusion it's going to need a new door, as the door is bent and twisted - DH spoke to his parents yesterday and has told them that his sister and partner have not contacted us/been round to see the damage have only texted me back after I texted them to say he'd damaged the door and I expected them to pay to put the damage right - both hubby and myself are concerned because we think they are just thinking it'll be a few quid - they have said they'll pay but we had the day put in 8 years ago and it was £400+ then, and it was the cheapest! All the companies were about the same price though. Hubby has also told his parents that if they don't pay it will cause us a big problem ie, we won't be having anything to do with his sis etc anymore, also if the boot was on the other foot she'd be hounding us straight away for us to pay top money to get things put right. Hoping that it doesn't become a fight but I'm still angry that he didn't say anything at the time he hit it and just makes us think if I hadn't seen him do it he would have said nothing and I wouldn't have know what had happened. At the time MIL & FIL came over on Friday afternoon to see if we could free the door so I could put my car in the garage (parking is real nightmare and we need to be able to use the garage to put my car away) MIL told me to calm down and I politely told her I wouldn't calm down as I was so cross with BIL and SIL for damaging the door and not admitting at the time they'd caused the damage. Hubby said she said yesterday after thinking about it she would have been cross too, and didn't blame me for being angry.
Dinner tonight will be smoked sausage pasta with creme fraiche, possibly choc gateau and cream for dessert as DH's bday - his fav dessert.
Off to the mad house that is work, will be a manic Monday no doubt as start of the month - nice!, and we're short staffed - great!
Have a good day, stay safe and well x

Morning everyone
Misty over fields with dog this morning. Lots of blue sky to be seen now so hopefully be a nice one
It's the kids last day of hols and fancy doing something with them. Might suggest a walk and picnic with the dog somewhere if it's going to be nice
Other than that it's just the usual round of chores, lawn needs cutting today without fail.
Tea is savoury sausage bake with pasta.
Hugs and spoons all round xxx

cheapskate
About the mince - how about home made burgers, enchiladas or stuffed pancakes?
Weird day yesterday. oldest dd started being sick early in morning and kept being sick all day. At tea time admitted to being in pain so rang NHS direct and then took her to Aand E.
We ended up getting home after 11 last night and she has been admitted overnight or longer for test on kidneys and bladder scan and more blood tests. Even though she is an adult felt awful leaving her last night.
Need to let her job know and phone hospital later to see if she has moved into different ward and what visiting time will be there. Also need to bring her more bits and bobs as the bag I packed yesterday in about 2 minutes flat was limited a bit.
