I'd advise park and ride from Selly Oak train station B29 6DW as otherwise you could spend all day trying to find parking. Back to Bristol Road, turn left to campus when you get to The Goose. There's a really handy clock tower in the middle of campus to help you navigate.

    He says he has.

    Looking at Train Tickets now

Do i go to New Street then get a local to Selly Oak?

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
I'm giving up making lists this week :( Its one thing after another atm and I seem to be getting nowhere fast :( I've had to take DD to and from school Monday, Tue she went herself, Wed she was off sick, today I took her up as she's struggling and wanted me to take her, tomorrow I have to take her to hydrotherapy then to school (probably about 3 hours in total due to buses/roadworks). I've been trying to work since Monday and although I got a few hours in on Tuesday I'm nearly a week behind with stuff and now my landlady wants workmen to come in and do jobs. I haven't managed to clean anything properly in about 3 weeks as I've even been so busy I haven't had the time or I haven't had the energy. Normally I can survive on 6 hours sleep but atm I'm struggling to even think straight never mind stay awake. Snowball effect doesn't come close. :( Can someone pass me life's remote so I can pause everyone else and maybe get a few things done around here apart from cooking meals and washing up?

    Hi everyone

A good start for me as I've washed all the nets, cleaned all the windows inside, also cleaned skirting boards and picture rails, doors etc throughout. Also sorted two wardrobes (looking for shoes) and found pair I was looking for and de-cluttered some never worn ones to the charity box.

Just had quick snack then off to work soon. It's another lovely, sunny day so OH is going to get last of outside work finished, plus some gardening, and get all the paint cans & tools etc out away, as we need to clean through ready for guests.

Kazmeister, we go to the Broads in ten days, and start from Wroxham.

Pigpen, re the heated airer: we only have the one-tier one and have never tried to dry things straight from the wash, but use it for still-damp stuff from the line, and it's good for that.

Good news for Cycling Yorkie and Mumto5, I am really happy for you.

Good vibes to everyone and off I go! Might get a few out for a walk in the sun today. R x

Sorted - there's a train to the campus from New Street.
Going to be expensive byt the thought of Spaghetti Junction (and the elevated roads) makes me hyperventilate anyway...

I'm going to see if DD wants to come as she, to, is beginning to think of Unis

    anyway

I have painted my feature wall in DR; sorted the bathroom ceiling, cleaned the mould (only a bit) off DD's ceiling (again) and, this time, painted with anti mould bathroom paint *crosses fingers*; washed car while I'm filthy, stuck a spud in the oven. Think I will do the back lawn and strim before I try to clean myself. What with Saturday looking like it will be no good for getting anything done;)

note to self - charge kindle;)

EDIT Where ARE my manners, thank you both DUSTY and SHORTBIRD for the travel tips - it does say, on the website, to use public transport but good to have it confirmed.

DS2 is crippled from last night's football. His right heel (the leg he broke last year) is very painful. I had to drive him to school, this in turn meant I had to take DS3 and DD2 to school in the car. I haven't got my car park pass yet so this is costing 50p a day. I can't get there early to get a road space because of dropping DS2 off.

After the school run I collected all the laundry from over the house. I hung outside 2 loads of washing and put another load on. I swept the kitchen floor and loaded the DW. Kitchen was S/S.

I then went to Chelmsford to spend my 30% Gap voucher (40% if you buy 4 items) on early Christmas presents. Primark has opened there and it was the 1st day - manic! I also spent in Wilkinsons and Lakeland. I must stop spending money!

The plan now is to strip the bed and tidy the master bedroom.

    Well done Optomistic-Mummy

    Hello all.

Late posting - but I've done the bedroom and the spare room (which now contains all Lucy's kit):D, done a load of washing, made pizza dough, and filled and started off the yogurt machine before logging on.

Lucy has, as you'll have realised, arrived.:T:T:T

Or send it all to a zip file and e mail him that. Check what MS Office you're both running BTW - I'm running a newer one here than I am at work and while I can open work-created files at home I can't open home-created files at work IF I haven't saved them as 'old' word;):o I remember EVERYTIME to save them as 'old' word:p;)(not)
That's Plan B, if the guy doesn't bring a USB flash drive with him. I want to show him some of the forms/letters and go through what he'll have to do, so will be taking the netbook with me in any case; and I put it all in a separate folder to allow me to double check that I've included everything he'll need, but omitted stuff that he won't, iyswim.;) I've had to also ensure that I have everything saved in Word format, as some of it (ie anything created on the netbook) is on OpenOffice documents.:money:
Mr LW's going to ring him for me tomorrow to set up the meeting. (Mr LW is wfh tomorrow, so I'll be here to check our diary) and hopefully I'll be rid of the 2nd area I've been doing very soon.:o

I'm going to have a time-out now, I think, and see if Lucy would like a wee trundle up the road.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Excellent news that today's Flying is the main bedroom, as the painter and decorater is slapping colour on the walls in there today as I type. :rotfl:We've been in this house for 19 years and we've finally found a colour we both like! OH is utterly useless at DIY and I only decorate rooms where I don't have to stare at all my splotches.

I'm making up for Flyinglessness by eating frogs instead. Two down, three to go.
    Better is good enough.
  • nicki - if you find 'life's remote control' ( what a wonderful thought!) can I borrow it at some point please?
