Hello all!!
Not posted in a while again , but I have no internet at home so don't get much oppertunity to surf the web. I'm dog sitting this weekend
Made a huge pot of lentil soup yesterday for my lunches for the week ahead and have rolls that I made in the freezer to go with these.
Going to bulk cook some jacket potatoes later and freeze for easy quick dinners, and maybe cook some pasta up too. Trying to be organised and save as much money as possible, this month is going to be a tough one and it's only the 2nd!!
Got to hang some clothes out when I get home and get another wash on sharpish, will maybe have to turn the heating on so things dry before bed time.
Also need to hoover and have a general tidy but might leave that for tomorrow.
Hope everyone is well - off to catch up on the thread.

FB were the cucumbers O.K. in Aldi's ? I may hang on until Thursday and have a trip to my nearest one as tesco's wanted 80p for one this morning.
Yeah the cucs are always good from Aldi, on the thin side, but long (sounds dodgy! :rotfl:). If you have a Lidl nearby they are half price next weekend (34p I think) according to the thread on the Grocey board.

It does sound really bad but most are only aware of it if they live here all the year round. The tourists notice nothing but the hot sun, the warm welcome and the amazing hospitality of the Greek people...which is how it should be. After all they have saved all year for their holiday and are supporting Greek families by bringing their custom here.
The winter will be hardest when all the tourists have left. There are no direct flights to the islands in the winter and ferry services are going to be cut to the bone to save money this year. No doubt there will be some food shortages of imported goods as a result of this, and petrol of course, which is also imported.
I doubt we will be celebrating Christmas much this year, January is a bad time for all our bills to arrive at once. It is more of a family celebration here with Christmas services at the church, a meal with the family and a few decorations. Nothing expensive and nothing over the top. Its more like Christmas was in the UK forty years ago.
We are going out for a meal tomorrow night for our 31st wedding anniversary. Its a little taverna in town which makes gluten free food that I can eat....so a seafood platter it will be for me!“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. I think it will have to be Aldi's as my nearest Lidl is at Maidstone nearly 9 miles away, but Aldis in Gillingham is only a couple of miles which is easier.any other goodies in Aldis that can be recommended ?
Pretty much all the fruit and veg is great, in fact most of Aldi's stuff is good. Their fresh pineapples are always giant and very tasty. The cereals are good value compared to supermarket, I get their version of Shreddies which is currently 89p (normally 99p).* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Evening all,
The weekend has flown by as usual and this is the first chance I have had to post.
Managed to get to the car boot this morning but nothin very exciting. Then picked up DD and DGS and they came back with us and had a bit of lunch. Just a sandwich but it was nice to catch up for a couple of hours. She has met a new chap who sounds lovely, haven't met him yet but hope things work out for her this time. Luckily she seems to be managing an amicable relationship with DGS dad and they seem to share the child care really sensibly. Long may it continue.
Managed to find some reasonably priced flights with Emirates for our trip to Australia at Christmas so hoping to book those this week.
I'm another one who loves planning for Christmas which will be different this year. Most close family will be with us at the wedding so those presents will come with us (trying to think of lots of small things) and will need to leave some presses here with my brother to dish out. No decorations or cooking this year which will be nice but strange.
I'm another one who doesn't get Cosco but I'm sure it works well for some people.
Have quite a few eBay parcels to post tomorrow so that will keep me busy.
I'm loving losing weight but almost everything is too big and have nothing for the winter. Will be trying to manage with charity shops until I get to goal.
Anyway enough waffle, have a good evening all J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Evening everyone
Struggling to post everyday but I'm trying to read. Welcome to the new posters, it is a lovely place to post. Been recovering today after having a bbq for dh work colleagues yesterday. Was a bit os as made our own chicken kebabs, and own marinades for the ribs and lamb. also made desert an apple tart. I also tried a receipe for Turkish salad which went down well. All the comments from everybody and the fact that all the food went makes me think people preferred it.
os today kitchen cleaned, garden tidied up and i lot of washing done and hung on airers.
ds1 managed to get a place at college that will be funded doing electrical engineering and starts on Wednesday. He has also managed to get a part time job which is good too. Both ds are having to share a room at the moment as dh is using the spare box room as a study as he works from home. Dh and I are having a discussion re rooms, he says they are ok sharing and I disagree as there is a 10 year age gap and I think they need their own space. Not sure who's going to give in on this one. Makes it difficult as he is their stepdad and for 10 years lived on his own, not used to having lots of noise around.
Well enough of my ramblings. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.0
