Hi, this is the Daily Threadfor xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chatabout everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring andmotivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to dotoday or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) andjoin us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the
Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be awarethat many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help othersthat don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly butif not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you goto bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two dailythreads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each newdaily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you haveto though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does justas well.

Morning all
Hubby's off to work soon then later we are off to visit the outlaws.
I'm recording the GP, no idea what's for lunch/tea as I have no idea whats happening at the outlaws.
Time I fed the fish & watered the baskets, WM is already on & DW is waiting to be emptied.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

  • Good Morning Hester and all to follow.

    Hester - enjoy your visit.

Didn't get on here yesterday as did a Boot Sale with OH, made £75 - not bad. Have left the car loaded and going to do another one today  anything not sold at the end will be going to the charity shop/tip when we have finished.

Not sure what will be for dinner, depends what time we finish up. Also need to get some washing done and clean out the rats. Housework can wait - DS is back at school tuesday :j and I will start deep cleaning the house then.

Loving the autumnal feel in the air, need to start thinking about changing the wardrobe over to my cooler one. Its a job I hate and love at the same time - love it because sometimes I find clothes that I have forgotten about :rotfl:

Anyway, best get going. Have a great day all.x
  • Morning all

Wide awake just before 7am, oh I wish I could sleep in sometimes!

Raining here. Which is a tad annoying as I need to put WM on really, and it was lovely yesterday but I was too hungover/busy to put it on then! Don't want to dry stuff indoors with no heating on.

No real plans for today. I need to do a bit of college work, tidy the house, put away the spare beds, pop to Aldi to get some veg. Looing forward to the F1 later, and I may go rent a DVD for tonight as still have free rentals til next weekend.

OS wise - tidy, beds, WM if rain stops, dishes to wash, LO takeaway for lunch, May make shepherds pie later.

    Have a good day all

    Hope all is well.

It is dull and damp in the burbs.

Grand prix back, well done Jenson, so will plan my day around that.
Off to a local market this morning. Not been before but have heard many good things about it. Hopefully the weather will pick up.

    take care all
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow.. :p

Morning all and commiserations with those that couldn't sleep. I was up during the night, came down to the kitchen to get a drink of water and there was a HUGE slug on th kitchen floor! I have no idea how it got there! Revolting.
This morning I need to pack, over to my son's for lunch and then me and carers are taking him out for a walk. Then over to my OH's to watch the GP (he's recording it for me) and then tomorrow we leave from his for holiday. I am really looking forward to it. Hoping to get out of the habit of feeling stressed and rushed the whole time...........it is a habit now. The main problems are solved and I need to learn to calm down.
Son's nasty neighbour says he is still unhappy and will complain to his MP and Councillor the my disabled son is in the community not an institution. He has now been round 4 times in 3 days to protest that my son is allowed to live next door to him. On the basis of one cup dropped over the neighbour's fence he says my son is dangerous. If the neighbour carries on like this he will dine out that I am the dangerous one! (don't mean it). Must leave this to son's care provider to sort out. I will only make things worse by being emotional.
    Anyway, concentrate on holiday thoughts............
Have fun all, to the other GP lovers I think it will be sa great race, but won't put why in case anywone has recorded qualifying and not watched it yet!

  • Hello all.
Won't be doing much money saving today - we have had a couple of very lean months as we have paid off our new tv in full, so today we are treating ourselves and going to the cinema and then to Nando's for tea :-)
I do need to get the WM on though and start working on stock for my next craft market which is at the end of this month!
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j

Good morning Hester and all. Another grey day here and a bit nippy too.

Son went to a party last night to celebrate the GCSE results he and his friends got. Last time he had a party they were awake all night and he slept all the next day. Good job he's not at college until Tuesday so he can sleep it off.

Hubby and i are still at wars. His problem is work and he's taking it out on me. I take so much and bite back which adds to his mood. The problem is although his hourly rate is quite good being in the centre of London he is finding accomodation for under £80 a night hard to come by. As he is self employed he is having to pay out his accomodation himself and claim it back on his tax in April. He is presently staying with a friend 70 miles away from the job but the driving to and from the job plus a full 10 hour shift is killing him.

Being the closes thing to a 'punchbag' (not literally) he's taking it out on me and for the first time in our 27 year marriage, i'm batting it back. Ive told him theres only so many times you can hear the words sorry before it becomes meaningless.

Meanwhilst, he is still looking at new cars. It was partly his love of wheels that got him in the financial mess he is in in the first place.

Have a great day all.... think of me, in the dog house.

What an amazingly excellent 2 day way to get shut - I shall "borrow" this idea for ..next weekend (hopeful!) and clear out everything I am kicking from room to room, foot to foot, floor to floor.
glitterkitty enjoy yourself today sounds like you have earned it:T

helen jelly - Dr is still the talk of the house here too. :D I always link the run up to Christmas with it too though:o

F1 isn't something that I watch anymore, used to be a part of the day, but I moved out. :p Kids watch it when visiting Grandma, youngest tries to catch the cars still. :rotfl:

Hubby was up all night with allergies, really don't know what to do about that, meds don't work. :( Nothing much planned for the day other than the usual not getting as much cleaning done as I'd like.
