Neighbours abandoned cat

  • He's booked in for this evening, gave the code over the phone and vet was fine with it so will see how it goes!

Sorry, I must not have made myself very clear....how did you get the code? Did the CPL offer it to you when you phoned?

Reason I am asking is I am wondering whether to call and ask for me/the cat.
  • Sorry, i phoned Cats protection (my local branch) and explained the situation. I offered to take him to be checked out and just asked if they could help? They also offered a voucher if he needed to be neutuered. I will make a donantion to them once payday comes back round again!
  • Took little Bugly (her nickname) to the vets last night. They were bit confused by the whole cat protection thing. But she is a she and about 2 years old. They have kept her in to do a blood test for feline HIV etc and then we are expected to take her home.
They said if we left her with them they would just return her to where she was found as she is a healthy stray!!! Only reason she is healthy is because we have been feeding her.
Still in two minds as to whether to keep her or not. Our Cat was giving us the cold shoulder yesterday so think he is a bit pee'd off with us...oops!
They can't tell if she has been spayed or not so we have to wait and see to see if she comes into season!!!!!!!!!

It would be lovely if you could keep her, I am sure your cat would accept her soon enough.

Perhaps you now could put up a small ad in the local PO offering her free to a good home......

  • Vet just called and she is all clear to come back to ours. Think we will keep her a while to see how she goes and see how our cat reacts. Need to get her vaccinated etc and just dreading the extra costs involved!
  • Good on you for helping this poor little cat :)

Not sure where abouts you are in the UK but if you have an easipetcare near you they do very cheap vaccination clincs - £10 for the flu & enteritis or £20 for flu, enteritis & leukaemia initial courses (this covers both jabs, three weeks apart).

Boosters for already vaccinated cats are £11.25 for flu&enteritis and £15 for flu, enteritis&leukaemia.

Thanks so much! they have one in Romford which is about 40mins form us i think.

Got her home last night and she seems to be settling in OK. Our other cat hasn't even noticed so far!

All we need to do now is think up a name!
    ;)

    We need pictures :j

Hope it all goes well with your new arrival.
  • If you are anywhere near Rayleigh or Dagenham then Your Vets are a good, low-cost vet too, for vaccinations and microchips but also for actual vet care too (I am miles away but have used them in the Midlands for years, and used to work for the people who designed their funky logos and artwork.)

I agree: we need pictures! :D
