It was good to finally do some tutoring last night at cadets. My two beginners will be superstars but it is trial and error at the moment with their learning as they have different approaches. I need to teach them both at the same time but one is more natural at it so want to concentrate on the other. I will give it some thought for how to approach it on Tuesday. It is a great way to work on my teaching ready for advertising to do it myself. I am going to give myself some time working in this way to adapt my methods before I put my name back on the tutoring website.
I earned £100 tutoring last week which will be a great help, especially as my PT asked me today if I wanted to carry on with the sessions when this block ends. I said I probably would and he explained how we would progress if I did. I know they need to sell their sessions but I honestly don't feel I am in a place to do it by myself full time yet. We have done many weight based sessions this week, a bit like the weight lifting you see on the olympics and I don't have good form for it yet. I feel much happier doing it will him there to correct my posture etc and therefore not injure myself. It is annoying as I don't feel like I am getting any better at things but I know it is because he is constantly pushing what I am doing and making it harder. I am only 14 seconds from breaking my rowing PB which I was getting annoyed at today so he has given me some tips to try and work on. I think I would miss our discussions through the sessions too, for a youngster he is quite informed on current affairs so we spend a lot of time discussing the news and expressing our own views. I normally only express my views (political or otherwise) with Mr AJM as he shares my views and it gives us good discussions.
My sister invited me to stay tonight rather than just drive up for the day tomorrow but I have decided to stay here, I will probably get bored later and regret it. However sharing bunk beds with my niece made me feel I might not get much sleep!

Tackling mine today ....:eek:Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

My challenge idea for the term...train for a 10k and enter a run at the beginning of December. I have never entered an event before so I am still thinking about it but will finish my 5k training next weekend so it might be a natural progression. I might even see if Mr AJM wants to come down and do it with me. I need to work on the art of persuasion first though!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

A 10k run would be eminently doable, sounds like a good idea. I am in awe of your swimming abilities, I can swim about a length of the pool before sinking. Giving serious thought to adult swimming lessons, might make me more useful during daddy daughter swim time
Well done on getting started with your washing mountain. We are pretty much stuck in a constant laundry hangover these days since DD came along. I am giving serious thought to a tumble drier, that's how bad it has got!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend :beer:0 -
Ed - Thanks for the comment about my swimming abilities but you haven't seen my attempts. Don't get me wrong, I am not terrible but I am pretty much self taught through watching what others do up and down the pool. I am using the 5 mile challenge to get back into it and try and work on my technique by myself and then considering getting a couple of lessons from a guy at my gym so that any longer challenges will be better and easier. If you and Mrs Ed can be happy and confident in the pool around Juliet that will be great. My dad was away in the Navy a lot and took us swimming when he was home but mum has never liked swimming and wouldn't put her head in the water so I inherited her views in the pool. It has taken quite a bit of work on my part not to feel sick when I go swimming and to swim with my head in the water but I now love swimming. With cuts all the time in school they may not even teach them this so the more you guys can inspire her the better.
Washing has been done and the ironing pile doesn't look too bad so I may tackle that soon.
Feeling sorry for myself though as I cricked my neck a little while ago, trying to stretch it out but not having much successMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I'm not too lacking in confidence, but Mrs E won't even go to the deep end without a float!

Unfortunately where I am living there is one bath for about 30 rooms and I can never be bothered to clean it before I go in. I might fill my hot water bottle and use that instead. I cricked my neck a year ago and the first time I got proper movement back was when I started my gym sessions with Rob so if all else fails it shoudl hopefully be better by Wednesday. I think all I was doing was looking at the computer screen and reaching for a cup of tea :rotfl:MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I woke up yesterday morning having resorted to pain killers in the night and my neck felt great. An hour later I was straigtening my hair and it went again, if you want a laugh then think of the hair adverts where they swish their hair over their shoulders. It was in that kind of fashion, so about as stupid as reaching for the cup of tea! I managed to be careful while I was with my sister and niece and not twings it so by the end of the day it was ok. I know it won't take much to put it out again so I am being very careful, hope it is back to normal soon though.
We went to a local farm park yesterday but it was very disappointing so we went to one we normally go to which was much better. I treated my sister and niece to some ice-cream, my sister was quite touched by me treating them...the simple thingsSpent time doing homework with my niece inbetween her tantrums which it turns out are "fun because they annoy mummy"! I had a lovely roast cooked for me before I came back, next time I am going to cook for them at their house to say thanks.
Went to the gym this afternoon although I didn't do anything that was likely to put my neck out again. However I did do some rowing as I wanted to see if it was possible to break my rowing pb with fresh legs and not after a PT session. It turns out my legs are still quite heavy 2 days later but I beat it by 1 second so I am very happy. The last time I rowed this fast was 20 months ago and I haven't got anywhere near in a year :j Now I need to try and do it during our PT sessions and try and do even better when I am fresh. I was going to go swimming this evening but am going to give it a couple of days rest as I don't want to aggravte my neck. It will mean that I will have to do some longer swimming sessions at home next week but that should be fine.
Money wise things seem to be going ok, it will be tight but I should get to the end of the month without resorting to my credit card or using money from other pots to aid the fact I had to pay off my credit card this month. I think the month I have in my wallet may last me until the end of the month, that is what I am trying for anyway!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Cadets was interesting last night, my colleague and I were teaching the newbies how to read music  I don't remember how I was taught so I ran through what I had done with Mr AJM as he teaches this in schools and it turns out I couldn't have put it much simpler. I either need to try and explain things a different way or need to hope that they will pick up what we are teaching them soon enough. My little superstar clarinet player is a little rascal but hopefully the military/cadet discipline will reach him soon! Another £50 banked (when it comes through) and I am enjoying working with them, especially as it doesn't really seem like work.
Went for a run yesterday afternoon, I wimped out due to the rain in the morning. My running is a lot stronger than it has been in a long time, I really enjoyed it. Had another PT session this afternoon which was really hard work. I only realised on my drive home that by the end he had me lifting my own body weight on the weights, no wonder I am already starting to ache. I told him today that I during our taster session I had wanted to quit after less than 2 minutes and wasn't really sure why I had paid for the first block. I don't really see how far I have come yet but he seems pleased which is good. I am off for a gentle run with a male colleague tomorrow morning. I don't normally run with any guys other than my husband because I am slower than them whereas my husband and I have the same kind of pace. He has promised me it won't be quick so I will try not to worry.
My spending seems to be going ok. I have kept all my receipts as well as writing down what I have spent in my diary so will assess it next week when I am home to work out how much my food is costing etc.
Some of my colleagues from Scotland are working down here at the moment so I am hoping to meet up with them this evening, it will be like old timesMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200
