I am a bit younger than your Mum (46) and have 2 DDs (10 & 7) who I hope will be as thoughtful as you when they are older. I have tried the melting cleansing gel - I liked it but I know some of the forum-ites have an adverse reaction to it. The skin buff is lovely - I had an Elemis facial this year and the therapist used this on me. It is on my list of things to buy when I need more exfoliator. I have also used the daycream and it is nice (altho my HG is the Pro Collagen Marine Cream and the PC Oxyygenating Night Cream but these will not be good if you want to avoid anything about aging and wrinkles). This is a nice set too :

    http://www.feelunique.com/p/Elemis-Limited-Edition-Top-To-Toe-Weekender?q=elemis%20collagen

but then I am a total sucker for any set that comes with a bag...

Let's just say years of hoarding to rival a European butter mountain and move on.... LOL :rotfl:

Are you near a Champneys store? There is one near me and they sell vouchers for treatments like manicures etc. I think you can buy the vouchers and the recipient decides on the treatment they want to book as we bought someone as a leaving pressie from work.

Thanks. :) My mum already has some Crabtree and Evelyn body products so I didn't want to get anything body. The drawer under the bed in the spare room is also full of gift bags/travel bags from the past 30 years. Not near Champneys unfortunately, we're from rural Northern Ireland! There's local beauty salons but it's the kind of place where everyone knows everyone so I don't think she'd enjoy someone she knows prodding her face...I did think about getting her vouchers for somewhere in Belfast but then there's the effort of going there.

Her skin isn't that sensitive so hopefully she'll be ok with the cleanser. I thought it might be a good introduction to Elemis so if she likes it, I can get her more for future birthdays and Christmases!

I'm late joining this month as was away on holiday from 25th August until last night. Just been trying to catch up on the August posts but realised there were far too many and this month's also seems mega busy so will just jump in here.

I had a few use ups when I was away but nothing major. The only thing I bought was a Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh pendant with the solid perfume in. I got this in Manchester airport on the way out so it is an in for August. None for September so far. I did look in the duty free shop in Rhodes Airport but the perfumes weren't especially cheap so I just tried a couple of testers and left it at that.

I am pretty sure I will need to buy conditioner this month and will probably go back to my HG Herbal Essences volumising. Will get the shampoo also if it is in a BOGOF. I should be able to use up lots of body lotions to try to preserve my tan so hopefully will have more outs than ins.

Where in the US were you? I fall over the B&W stores down there, even in small town Kentucky and upstate Maryland. Canada I can understand because they are newish up here and are only in well traveled malls.

The duty free's aren't that great pricewise, I've found better value buying at dept. stores when the perfume counters or the stores have promos. The Bay and Nordstroms often havve "beauty galas" when if you spend $75 you get loot bags from the store that have all sorts of promo products from the make up counters. Las spring I spent $80 at the Lancome counter on L'Orangerie and came home with a tote bag with the equivalent of two Lanacome GWP promos and a gift card for my next cosmetic purchase.

    Hangs head in shame:D

I was in Montreal, New York and Boston. It was probably because I was in big cities. But after returning and sorting out my stash I think it's seriously good that I didn't stumble across one. I need nothing for a very long time!
I doubt I'll be buying any soap.

s a result of reading this thread I tidied up my stash and discovered 12 soaps in a box that I bought in a half price sale + I already had 6 bars of soap lurking about in the bathroom.

I have a box of about 30 full sized soaps under my bed. Who needs that much soap ever?!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

I have 1 UU to report: FCUK refining body polish. I really loved this but got it as a Christmas present back in 2004 so not sure I could BA even if I wanted! This is a definite example of how hoarding is a waste of good products.

Loads of splutterers so hopefully September will be successful on the UU front as August was very quiet.
  • I'd love to receive a Glossy Box. I think that can be my "No buying toileteries" graduation present!

    Two items to report:

Garnier amber solaire after sun with tan - UU but I didn't try that hard to get the dregs out!

No7 Nail Varnish - GA slipped it into SIL's birthday present gift bag because I've never used it and it's the same colour as a Nails Inc one I already have. I still can't zip up my nail varnish bag though!
    MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.

Ah, just checked the first post and only four people have graduated so far! I may be waiting some time for this Glossy Box present to myself!

I had some much-needed retail therapy today and Liz Earle happened. :o So 2 INs for me!

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Rose and Lavender: this seems really nice, no eucalyptus in this one and £2 goes to the Prince's Trust.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic spritzer. My Caudalie Beauty Elixer is spluttering and I fancied something a bit cheaper.

I don't think I'll need to buy cleansers for about a year! I've found myself spending a bit more on skincare as it seems to get much better results. I used to buy cheap stuff from Boots and not like it so it was a waste when I didn't finish it. At least I know I'll use up the ones I have now.

2 ins today and will try to make that the only ones this month - wish me luck!

Herbal Essences Uplifting Volume conditioner 200ml - wasn't on BOGOF and still have quite a bit of Naked shampoo which may last me until October possibly

Andrew Barton SOS Help Me intensive conditioner - don't usually bother with intensive conditioners as my hair is generally in good condition. I rarely use straighteners or a hairdryer or products other than shampoo and conditioner. When I was on holiday it went very dry and frizzy in the first few days but settled down after that. However, I had a fall last week and cut my head quite badly. I was taken to hospital and they decided I needed stitches. Unfortunately this necessitated them shaving quite a large area of my head. Luckily I have quite long hair so can cover it with careful styling - I have already been practicing my combover! I have decided that I need to treat my hair with TLC until it grows back, which may take some time. I normally wash it daily but am going to try to leave it for 2 or 3 days until I get some regrowth.

Ouch - that sounds awful, I hope you are recovering.

UU - Boots no7 4 in 1 wipes, these were the old version, I opened them for camping trips and then as I am not going again this year I have finished them off at home. WBA with a voucher as they do a good job. Think I have one of the new packets in the stash.

Am expecting 4 or 5 uu over the weekend of mini shower gels, bubble bath and body cream and also the last of the Ikea shower scrub - yay.

Hope you are all enjoying some sunshine. Have a good evening all.
