ps Eagerly awaiting my first PB prize. Might be waiting a little while though...
pps We are coming up to the end of year report in, and I am wondering how to add my PB savings into my SIPP target. Given the uncertainty in my job situation, I think I am going to leave it in the PB pot until March next year. I'll add the 13k to the total, but not the 20% uplift (will have to wait until the next tax year before can add the higher rate tax back component - which will get recycled back in to the pension). Doing MFiT-3 reminds me just how useful this high paid job is in terms of retirement savings and makes me resolve to stick at it a bit longer...MFiT-T4 Number 68

Hi everyone,
Payday today :j:j!
Have lumped a wad of cash into my mortgage and some extra into my ISA. Will have to wait until I get my mortgage statement as to what the final amount will be at the end of November.
One year down, two to go .......

I've been missing in action for a while, work incredibly busy and just the standard overpayments on the mortgage, so nothing extra exciting. Sticking with the chipping away, and have spent on building works this year which is now nearly finished - the company had guaranteed it would be done before the start of the school summer holidays, so I guess not-quite-finished for the Christmas holidays was predictable...
I'm also trying to sort out our remortgage for next summer, as our five year fix end on 31 July - I'm planning a four year fix, and hope to have it all paid off in five. I'll lose the offset, but be on a lower rate so will be back to make actual overpayments instead of building up the offset.
So, sort of on track or at least not too far behind, and with a nice new extension with nice new Christmas trees lit up! :xmastree: :xmastree: :xmastree:Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -

I've just submitted my update for this quarter, is it a bit sad that I've been eagerly awaiting this months payment to go through so that I could do the update?! :rotfl:
I seem to have underestimated how "quickly" the mortgage would go down as we're already nearly half way through the 3 year goal. I'm not going to change it though as who knows what might change between now and the end of the challenge.
However, I have found myself considering additional over-payments. My DP didn't want to go any higher with the over-payments we're making, but I think we could easily afford the remaining £20 of our 20% overpayment allowance each month if we wanted... As I manage all the bills etc & he simply pays me his half each month when I tell him how much it is, I'm very tempted to overrule him and arrange for the maximum over-payments without telling him... Is that very naughty of me? It's not like we're talking about a huge sum of money!£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

Hi everyone, I'm very happy as my mortgage (after taking into account my offset savings) is £2663. Just 3 months to go and I'll be changing my challenge to a saving target.
Not sure if I'll feel quite as excited as I always thought I'd be once it's gone, but it will definitely be a nice, warm, comfortable feeling.
Off to update the chart, have a great 2014 everyone.:jI shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.0
