Early evening post instead of witching hour post this evening...

Three new registrations since my last post:

    84. happycamel. Reduce my mortgage from £264,000 to £246,000.
    85. PrincessLou. Reduce my mortgage from £126,000 to £100,000.
    91. uzubairu. Build up my savings from £0 to £35,000.

uzubairu - takes a second number which is a savings challenge. First number (19) is mortgage challenge. Good idea to separate the two out. If anyone else wants to do that, please fill in the form a second time and I'll allocate a second number.

As per usual, I'll PM everyone.

    Just bumping this up...

These challenges (like the MFW2012 challenge) are a brilliant way to stay focused to the end and all of you were an inspiration to me!!

I was going to wait to set my target later but obviously couldn't wait :o.

I have looked at how much the mortgages will reduce over the 3 years. Added my planned overpayments. Assumed I will be able to find a little more (not a lot as it is very tight). Assumed I will get payrises and prices will stop rising so all the extra can be op'd (welcome to my fantasy world :o). Estimated those extra op's will be eaten up by holidays, repairs etc. That gives me an overall target (mortgage balance reduction + savings) of £96,880.35. No, NOT 100k. £96,880. OK, round it up to £96,881 :D. NOT 100k.

Target sent, NO SLIP OF FINGERS. £96,881. Exactly :).

FB I posted this in Sept and sent a PM but it hasn't been updated. Please do quickly so I don't slip and say it's 100k :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I'd love to join the new MFi3 challenge, but as of yet don't know what the target might be.

I was doing really well with my old mortgage, but in last month I have got married and moved house, doubling the mortgage.......... plus other bills are bigger..........and we would like to start trying for a family in 18 months -2 years............so............thought needs to be put into a target.......

runs off to talk to OH and figure out a plan!
    Mort at highest - June 2008 - £171,000 - Daily Int 5.9% = £27.64:eek:
    Offset Mort - Nov 2010 £150,299- Daily Int 3.75% = Nov £15.44
    Mortgage Jan 2012 - £136,000 - Daily Int 3.75% - £3.10

  • I'm going away later today for a few days - fill in part of the half term with the kids, so I've just taken a quick look and caught up with the registrations before I leave. Apologies for delay - massively busy, both at work and home.

    Three just now, as follows:

    88. samtoby. Reduce my mortgage from £110,920 to £85,920.
    90. babyb06. Reduce my mortgage from £247,000 to £200,000.
    92. icontinuetodream. Reduce my mortgage from £57,000 to £10,000.

I'll try and PM every one above.

    Thanks for showing an interest,
