    Hi,

Time for me to look back and work out the update. Trix-a-belle, are you ok to get updates in from all the MFiT3-ers ?

Including me whilst I work out about how to "reverse engineer" my savings goal into the mortgage target :)

Just pop it through the form as you would & I'll copy it across from fb's sheet to my copy. Don't worry about reverse engineering if you're in as a saver target just give how much you've saved so far, fb's sheet has a tool for those.
I'm out tonight but will pull anymore across later this week & post once done

    Hi,

I checked my balance just now and the total SIPP (cash) now stands at £124,230.66 (following transfer of my pension from my last job). Which means I've broken my target ! Yay !

Slightly less yay is that I got made redundant at the beginning of this month. Given that I work in the energy sector, prospects are not looking that good...

Well, when life hands you lemons, make new MFIT3 goals !

Trix - can I set my new goal for 12/12/15 to be 149999 GBP in my SIPP ?

Not as insane as you might think (although redundancy does send you a bit bonkers!) because I have about 10 k to come across from my most recent job (sniff) pension, but it will incentivise me to get off my backside and get a new one.

    Hi,

Trix-a-belle - have entered my Chart 10 numbers. Have left my target at 99,999, I like these % more than a 100 :)

Now to go get a job so I can stay on track.

As a member of this thread already I'm thinking this is probably the best place to pose this question. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with First Direct mortgages as we're looking to remortgage some time soon. While they aren't the cheapest deal out there, they appear to offer unlimited overpayments, penalty free (outside of the fixed term) which is highly appealing. Is this too good to be true? TIA :)

Update: Have just spoken with 1st D and they've confirmed it is as I've read it. We would be able to make unlimited overpayments throughout the course of the mortgage (even within the fixed period) without penalty! :)
