Tappers, I have some that I wear under my gloves when skiing or out walking in the winter, and they really do keep fingers toasty warm.

Tru, I love those! How good of Mr Tru to think that you would like them!

Not much OS going on here....still got scaffolding up (since June!) as no rendering can be done, as we have not had more than 40 hours without rain up here :(

DH and me are off to the Illuminations Switch-On tonight, with 6 Olympians and Rick Astley :D Then we're off to the Lakes walking & staying overnight for our anniversary on Sunday/Monday.

Need to spend the day at the lotty tomorrow - lots of jobs, tidying-up and picking of beans/ late raspberries/ cucmbers/ tomatoes/ chard to be done!

    afternoon all

been a bit more productive today despite feeling rather wobbly. keep coming over all shaky and lightheaded :undecided: dishwasher has been on and emptied. 2nd load of washing on but still plenty more where that came from . cooked some pork and turned that into sweet and sour for the freezer. well it will be once it has cooled. wanted to make some choc chip cakes/muffins but have no flour :( could take a walk to get some but ds is reluctant...

going to do two pasta bakes for dinner. macaroni/cauliflower cheese for me and a tomatoey one for the boys. left overs will either be lunch tomorrow or for the freezer. i have tons of carrots to cook and freeze rather than waste. may add some to pasta actually

need to do a food shop. need to stock up with basics again. cupboards are bare and we're out of pretty much everything. debating whether to do it online or not... its cheaper as we dont pick up bits and bobs we need but at the same time, i forget things online. plus i prefer to choose my own fruit and veg which is a big chunk of our list... no use sending hubby with a list. if he doesnt see it immediately under his nose then they've run out apparently... happens a lot to him

craving jelly today oddly.well the smell of it while it is hot... no idea why or where that has come from but typically i dont have any of of that :rotfl:

bitsy - nearly all our fleecey blankets are from primark. the big ones are from sainbugs. cant remember prices though

welcome helenjelly - maybe reading your name is what set this craving off :rotfl:

redruby (i think :o) hope dd is feeling better

mind has gone blank :o where barginbird today? how did hubby get on at drs?

sorry cant remember much else :o hugs to all who want/need them :)

Elona thanks for ikea suggestion but sadly it's a trek to the otherside of Brum for me so not sure I'd be saving any money in petrol to get there.

RosyRed far better to tell DGN off forcefully when he does something to Leo than him do something to a random dog elsewhere and get bitten!:o I hope poor Leo is OK.:D

Lame Wolf- don't worry,he's fine;),I said 'NO' before DGN actually did anything to Leodog. He'd banged on the door and turned round in temper heading for Leo and I could tell what he was going to do,fortunately it stopped him in his tracks.Thought he was a bit young yet for 'terrible twos tantrums' at 16mths:eek:

    Hi everyone
Managed to get here again :o
Sat in the conservatory, Skye is snoozing in her bed/cage, DH is putting up the wall bracket for the new Dyson handheld I have bought him;)
We took Skye to the vets this morning, and there is just one knot which has not gone inside we have to keep an eye on, and hope it dissolves, otherwise back to normal, not that she took any notice of us telling her not to run, jump or play:eek::eek:
We then took her to our Gtneice 10 & Gtnephews 3 for them to play with her while we went to Aldi. Treat them to a few bits, the reduced price Bob the Builder Toothbrush went down a bomb with him, and Dgtneice was really pleased with the Carol Vorderman Maths books I got her, as this is her weak subject, but she fell on them and started straight away. Also got him a Spongebob Activity book and a pack of pencils to share plus some sweets. Yes I know I spoil them, but it is my treat.
Got a load of washing on the line before we went, and another ready to go out now - more tomorrow, but no use washing when I couldn't get them dry outside.
Dinner tonight will br an Aldi chicken so I can do the carcass and add this to Skye's biscuits.
    Take care all. DG

    Afternoon all,

Not stopped cleaning today as we had a viewing at 3.30 but of course even though they loved it they haven't yet put their house on the market grrrr:mad: it makes me so cross.
On the upside all the cleaning I normally do on saturday morning has been done.
Tea tonight is a salad with fish and pasta and a Ww chocolate eclair for pud.
Definitely feeling autumnal a bit fresher although lovely and sunny here today. Planning on a bottle of white wine tonight which I will share with dh pointed of course . Also have done some ringing round for flight costs for Australia so hoping to book soon.

Have a good evening all (welcome helenjelly love the name:D)

I love the autumn weather too, even though I only just vacuum packed my warm fleece sweatpants!

Asda and dun elm for fleece blankets for a few quid or you could try ebay and get them on a hot wash before using.

Mum and sister are on a day trip and won't be back til late ans dad's gone out so im cooking dinner :j I've missed doing that. And making broccoliand cheese soup after my mum got a load of reduced broccoli- she is new to yeLlow stickers and was so excited :) though I am currently still on the train with another 80 or so mopeds to go.
Seeing some friends and stickinga more stuff on ebay tomorrow, hopefully I'll have time for some sewing Sunday as view been looking forward to it for ages. I impulse purchased loads of rhinestones recently and need to start using them - maybe some very sparkly Xmas bits?

My phone is playing up so it should say miles not mopeds but. Can't change it!

Remembered we are going away for the weekend so have spent most of the day chopping up the veg I have in the fridge to ensure its not wasted. Now have courgettes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, onions and home grown rhubarb in the freezer and have packed up a little rucksack with nibbles for when the children get peckish. Cleaned the bathroom, washed all the bed linen and tonight I will attack the ironing hill before it becomes a mountain! Have got the Marigold hotel on DVD that I've not seen yet, so shall watch that to get the time to fly past! Chicken curry in oven so just have to cook rice shortly! Chilly now it's raining - did I sleep through summer?
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
  • DH came home with 6 baskets tonight, the head told him to bring them home to me, because she knows that I do a lot of crafting especially at Christmas :D.

Oh the drama here.....y'day was running so smoothly, DH was home early from work so we took the dogs for a stroll....cue torrential rain, me in a vest tops and jeans . Got home was in the shower when DH said Maud (eldest dog) didn;t look right and was reathing funny and bringing up foamy bile (sorry if your eating your tea). So rang vets who said come down and you will e seen as soon as you arrive....whipped in (with wet hair looking very attractive), their attitude stunk, they lloked at her gums and said she's fine, we've got an emergency we'll stick her in a crate and look at her later at about 10pm, DH said no you wont. and promptly walked out. I got a her records and we rng another vet, explained the situation (by now it was 6.45pm) they said come straight up. Went there they eventaully looked at her at 7.45....told us she had a womb infection(shes not been spayed) that had spread to her lungs (which was the stuff she was bringning up). Cue me a snivveling wreck in the vets :o. If she had not been seen to she may have died. He gave her a couple of inj and told us to come bck today. Got home at 8.30 fed kids drank some vino and went to bed at 12am. was up at 5am worrying.....So tok her in at 10.30 this morning, he said he can still hear the fluid on her lungs but not as bad...so shes got anti b's to take and she needs rest.

The rest of the day....i litzed the house within an inch of its life and de-cluttered lots of carp.
Chippy tea, kids are in bed and i'm now about to soprt banking out...

    Have lovely evenings xx
