That's great :T Very MSE and thanks for the reminder to put Quality Street on the list ;)

Just ordered some organic biscuits for OH and my mother for Christmas from French Click cos even being imported from France they were cheaper than Daylesford organic ones  Got OH some cassoulet as he loves it and he's proposing to eat it for breakfast on Boxing Day ewwww  I tried telling him it's not actually all day breakfast...

Wondering whether it's still possible to buy Tunis cake, we always used to have it at Christmas when I was a kid ..

I will be making a real effort to make as much as possible this Xmas as have little money to spare. I love baking so will be making my own mince pies, sausage rolls and scotch eggs - they always go down well with the OH. There are only two of us in the house so only ourselves to please luckily.

i know the normal price of xmas biscuits is inflated anyway, but today I
got in sainsburys a foxes biscuit tin half price to £4, cadburys fingers tin half price to £4, half price two pack jaffa cakes.

Also in M&S yesterday half price shortbread tin £4.50, and the pretzel bags were bogof, so got long straight ones and salt and pepper ones for 99p - I have now cleared a cupboard in the kitchen for me getting a couple of bits each week, it means by december we have all of the dry goodies, and just the fresh bits to get nearer the big day!

I now have to start running the freezer down, no mean feat with the amount of yellow sticker goodies in there.

Like shimmigirl I'm trying to buy bits every week. Yesterday got McVities digestives 2 for 1.30 (to have with cheese) in my mother's local shop. Did check the date cos I was only there to take back the organic pasta sauce I bought last month which was use by 2010 oops - luckily hadn't shredded the receipt yet so got money back, paid for biscuits :D

Spotted Quality Street £5 in Sainsbos but tin smaller I'm sure. OH keeps the tins to put DIY bits in ;)

Wednesday travelling some 40 miles with my mother to have a nose at a huge Sainsbos.Maybe that one will have Tunis cake..

Edited to Add 30/09: Ordered some Jim Beam mustard for OH to have with meats at Christmas Day buffet tea. He says the buffet tea the best bit of Christmas !

French Click order arrived today, very well packed, no broken biscuits. :T

Got enough stuff now to start a Things for Christmas box - organic biscuits, ground coffee, organic salad cream, monkey nuts, organic Medjoul dates, cassoulet, turkey dog food for dawg on Christmas day ;)

Also listed food for Christmas not to be eaten before, and stuck it on freezer with fridge magnet.

Sainsbury's have 175g packs of pate on half-price @ 69p. I like this one and worth freezing some.
There are 58p pate's also in Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's, but I find the 69p one better and woth the extra 11p.

Sainsbury's Medium Coarse Ardennes Pate (170g)
    Sainsbury's Smooth Brussels Pate (170g)

    On offer until 16/10.
