Did anyone buy the Christmas cake mix from Sainsburys when it was reduced to £2? I made mine in March and I'm hoping it will be okay for Christmas! Had to add butter and eggs but still only cost £3.69 (plus electricity) to make
. I know it's no help to people now but worth looking out for this year when it gets near to Christmas. Waitrose did a Delia one that was reduced to £2.50 but I'd already bought the Sainsburys one.

Home Bargains had Taylors "Christmas Blend" ground coffee at £1.99 for 227g today. I'm thinking it's from last year but expiry date is Feb 2013 so it will be fine.0

If you're not fussy about what you have on Christmas Day then go shopping on Christmas Eve. Last year we ordered our desserts from there and while I was picking up I ended up with stacks of massively reduced chicken breasts, joints, party food, smoked salmon, sausages etc. I'll definitely be doing the same this year, but to fill the freezer up.
I used to work in a supermarket as a student and I'd always volunteer to work Christmas Eve. Was dead and there were amazing reductions to be had. Once got 1.3kg of premium ham from the deli for 39p, a luxury turkey crown from the butchers for £2 and a huge block of cheddar for less than a pound.
This year I'll be buying as much reduced meat as I can get my hands on - no point in paying full price when it's going to be down to silly money.0 -

Ground almonds are on for 1 pound for 150g in asda at the moment. That's quite a good buy, as they are usually 33% more expensive.0

Morries have reduced quite a lot of their "Best" range of shortbread - half price around 76p-82p.
Lidl's have their own choc Liebniz style biscuits @ half-price next weekend.
Some cheap biscuit offers??
