Facebook just like eBay

I run a scammer group on facebook and the amount of people who come moaning that they have been ripped off is unreal! When they say they have paid by bank transfer or gift you just know they have been set up, and not for small amounts either. I am finding it harder to feel bad for them because there are so many warnings on there and so many ways to check people out that people need to be alert. I think the fact that the scammers can chat to the customers and come across as their mate akes them let their guard down

My local for sale Facebook page is like a soap opera. Anytime I click on it there are arguments! Keeps me amused for hours

My guess is that many who lose their ability to sell on eBay due to poor performance (or worse) and who lose their inability to bid on eBay due to repeated non-payments will find their way to Facebook and restart where they left off.
If you are doing pretty well with eBay, Amazon or elsewhere, do you really need the hassle of a lot of extra hassle (perhaps often from those dismissed from more established markets), for the sake of a few extra sales?
[PS This is just my speculation - I've never tried to buy or sell on Facebook. By the look of the activities of those I've noticed 'living' on Facebook, they're not the sort of buyers or sellers I would choose]."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

Porto bello,
I think it depends on areas really. Mine seems to have a high turnover of fakes and pirate stuff which could never have been sold on ebay, and businesses who don't want to risk HMRC finding out about them.
It is really useful for me though as I've sold some heavy items that would have netted me pennies on ebay due to the postage, but where I have got a few pounds when someone could drop by after work and collect.
Some of my business stuff is the same, a light item that has to go as a packet in the post at £2.20 making it expensive to sell online, suddenly looks cheap when they can collect fr £4 or £5
I'm only selling about 4 - 5 things a week, so it is no money earner, but it helps declutter my personal stuff and also shift some of the business stuff that no longer sells on ebay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
