Hi guys - off topic but looking for a little advice.

My ten year old fell off a friends skateboard earlier and has a huge bump on his head. I have done all the things you are supposed too - cold compress, checking he is not feeling dizzy ect and too be honest with three boys I am a little blase about these things now, usually my attitude is if they have the energy to cry loud they will probably survive! But .... he is complaining that his jaw hurts when he opens his mouth, which I think is a little odd.

I rand NHS direct as my partner works nights and I don't want to drag all the little ones out to A and E and it turns out to be nothing and they don't seem overley concerned, saying he has probly jarred it, and I just need to keep an eye on him and wake him every 2 hours to check his responses.

Has anyone else heard of this happening?

Yes it's common if there is a chance of concussion, personally I would
Ring again or take him to A & E, drag isn't the word if he's ill, don't risk it, why would you.

He could have concussion or a broken jaw.

I'm not a nurse but I know someone who is.

Please let us know how he is.

If you are unsure ALWAYS get a second opinion, you have nothing to lose.

Bean bags(the type you sit on) in Tesco tonight - people in front of me bought two - they are the ones that have union jack fabric. They were labelled with white sel with £10 ticket and went through at £20.

Nhs direct only ocess on the information you give against a set of questions, If you have an out of hours service other than nhs direct try them, just ring your doctors surgery and see what number they direct you to via the answering machine.

Sooner rather than later on a friday night though.

Again please let us know how you get on.

    Evening all

Been at a friends this afternoon for an impromptu BBQ :D

Had some devastating news from another friend today :(

Hoping that no news from Snap is good news :)

Scamps did you get the tommy k from a t near me or further over your way?

I know I should be out getting shampoo as I get through enough of it but I can't concentrate on anything properly so there is no point as I would only mess it up :(

Cookie raider I posted on one of the threads yesterday hoping you were ok. How is the treatment going?
