  • Well, Zooplus delivery arrived today! :j

(Fab service by the way, wasn't expecting it 'til next week :T)

The enormous litter tray is, well, enormous! I'm just hoping I can teach him to use the flap - Mittens never mastered it, poor precious muppet-cat that he was :) I'll start looking up how to do that in a bit.

I also ordered a pack of their version of Da Bird as it works out so much cheaper than the real thing. I figured they'd do until I could order the real thing (Baloo is currently a very large drain on the household budget) but I don't think I'll bother with the real ones because these are great.

    O. M. G. They are AWESOME! I'd seen all the Da Bird youtube videos and Baloo behaved exactly like that! He was running, jumping, bouncing off the walls and somersaulted in mid-air a couple of times. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen :rotfl: He was purring and chirping as he chased as well. When I stopped he mewed like crazy for me to carry on. In the end I had to stop as he was panting like a dog. I got a little worried then and phoned the vet, she said he was just a little unfit and very excited and that the exercise would do him good :p but obviously we're going to keep an eye on him just in case. Anyway, he exhausted himself totally and is having a well-earned sleep now, which is why I'm posting for him ;)

I haven't tried the food or litter yet, but we will report back!

:rotfl: I don't think people often believe how amazing Da Bird (or quality knock off) is until they try it for themselves. Please get a Da Mouse and a Da Sparkler attachment at some point, one or both will go down as well as the feathers. Lulu will carry both around in her mouth, with or without the wand attached. :rotfl:

Noah cost me a small fortune but I figured I would buy sturdy/ highly praised products and toys and get many years of use. Hopefully you will find the same, with a good scratching post you can replace the string and carpet for example.

Not sure actually.. till I see the photos :D
  • Right, well Baloo has tried out the new litter tray and litter (I thought I might give it a miss ;))

The litter tray itself is a little flimsy considering the price and the fact it is for bigger cats. It is just as well it won't be moved around very much as I don't think it would survive heavy handling. The scoop it came with was next-to-useless but that doesn't matter, I have a litter locker one. I didn't need to worry about Baloo managing the door, he was in and out of it all afternoon before I put the litter in it!
The litter I got was Golden Grey which was recommended to me. I am very impressed with it - I've only ever used supermarket clumping litter before.

Baloo is still obsessed with Da Bird, he is very quick and has already managed to kill one (bit the feather in two ) but OH took one look and said he can make refills cheaply and easily thank goodness! I have a feeling that Baloo would be a birdy murderer if he went outside unsupervised but luckily he seems to like looking out a lot more than actually going out. We've put him on a harness a few times now so he can look out if he wants but he really doesn't like the outdoors when he has the option to go - that's fine by me, I'd rather he were a house-kitty, but if he really wanted to be an outdoorsy boy it'd be cruel not to let him. Mittens wasn't much of an outdoor cat either, even before he went blind.

Firefox I know exactly what you mean about buying sturdy, long lasting products. Especially because Baloo is so big! Just as I see good nutrition as an investment in his long-term health.

You need to get the angle and length right on the feathers to make it 'flap'.
