    Oh Baloo is blossoming beautifully!
My Woody came to me from the wonderful
    https://www.scratchingpost.co.uk
and after a whole host of health issues is settling down nicely. He was a late-neutered Tom, currently weighing in at 6.4kg of pure muscle with real plates of meat for feet. Oh, and he has a tiny squeaky little miaow which would put a 10 week old girl kitten to shame.
Like Baloo, he had survived without a proper home for years, and been returned to the rescue after being rehomed.
He too is a 'Tuxedo' black and white, but unlike Baloo he is ( I am afraid to say it ) one HELL of an ugly cat. Still, he is a gentle and sweet cat who gives lots of lap time and cuddles so I can forgive him his unusual looks.

    Photo of Woody?

I am sure he is absolutely georgeous.... all cats are :)

Ohhhh it is Woody from the website you linked above? Lovelyyyyyyyyyyy he is....
  • Is yours the Woody rehomed in March? 'Cos if he is, he's lovely! Some cats are more classically beautiful than others, but I've never met an ugly pusscat yet!

He is up on the rehoming page for August....but I don't think he wants to leave my place! I have been 'fostering' him since June after he was returned from his re-home in march.;)
I am afraid to say that he is a bit of an ugly bruiser, he has hardly any whiskers and both his ears are badly damaged from fights and infections.
It's ok, he makes a great lap warmer and his willingness to eat absolutely ANYTHING I put down for him has won my heart.:D
  • Ah yes so it is the same kitty as the picture in March - personally I think he is a cutie :D but then, you know, if it purrs I tend to love it! :) He sounds like an absolute sweetheart - if only my other half would have another... Woody is a poor little boy but hopefully his story will have a happy ending now :) Yes Baloo was a late neuter too, and probably that accounts for some of his size. It's funny he already doesn't seem to be so huge to me anymore, even though I have to strain to pick him up!

Glad to know Baloo's not the only one with a comedy meow ;) He is a very talkative cat actually, he meows and chirps and squeaks to us all the time. I've started to interpret but the only ones I really understand at the moment are "ooh hello!" "I'm hungry!" and "play with me!"

  • i had to make a scratch post, as simba is too big and heavy for the normal ones a friend gave us a normal one, simba went onto two back paws started to scratch down on it and snapped it in two ROFL.

carpet tube, thick chip board some carpet and 45 mins later do you think he will touch it will he eckers like! miley uses it for her rather large bed!!.

no cat tree will ever be big enough for Teddy but... he makes the most of the available space ;)

  • Oh gettingready, Teddy is an absolute beauty! His markings are so similar to my dear old Mittens', although his fur had not been so lush as Teddy's in a long, long time. And of course he was about half the size lol. What a gorgeous boy you are Teddy!

My OH was sure he could make Baloo's cat scratcher. But we couldn't find a big or sturdy enough tube and didn't have any chipboard. After plenty of pricing up and faffing around he decided we should buy - the chain stores only sold flimsy little things but an independent store near us had a big one designed for bengals so sturdy enough for Baloo! We felt sure he would use it as he was scratching the doormat, he was at it literally within seconds of us putting it down for him! Whether it gets quite so much use once he is allowed outdoors remains to be seen - I think it probably will though as we don't really want him out roaming, I'm hoping he'll have a play in the garden then come back.

I do have vague plans for a homemade cat den, so watch this space ;)
