Hi all! :hello:
Everyone here was so kind when I had to have my dear boy-cat Mittens PTS. I said that I knew I would get another cat at some point but not for a while.
BUT!
On Monday after a few glasses of wine I made the fatal mistake of looking at the rehoming pictures. I fell in love with a cat and we visited him yesterday expecting all the formalities to take a while...
...we brought him home last night
He is a huuuuge pusscat, the biggest bog-standard moggy I have ever seen! He's lovely, though, we've already nicknamed him the BFG
I would like to show a few piccies but I can't work out how to make the pictures not-enormous. Can anyone advise please?

Often when you copy and paste the Tinypic/ Photobucket link they look huge in the preview but not when actually posted. I have no idea why!!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Brilliant, thankyou! He's large enough without supersizing his pictures as well

I do know these things are subjective but I really do think he's a large pusscat! Not fat, just large. Here he is with a 12-inch ruler for scale:
He's very loving and purry (we've already nicknamed him the BFG). We expected some shyness or unsettled behaviour but apart from being slightly clingy and demanding to snuggle up with us all night he's made himself right at home!
Poor fella has been a stray, then has several names on his paperwork from his last home, a previous failed rehoming and his stay at a rescue centre. The only problem at his last home was that one of their kids developed a cat allergy, and they were really upset to lose him - I can't help feeling he's been a little unlucky so far. But he has his forever home here now with us
I still miss my little Mittens so much but it is nice to have a happy healthy cat around again. And nice to be able to give the same chance at happiness Mittens had to another cat.0 -
Do you know how much he weighs? He does look like a large boy but that is more to love!!

Well done Scrabbles - I guess Mr Hop loses his title as the heavyweight Champion of MSE to the new Kid on the block!:)"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170

Not yet, I am hoping the vet will do the honours for me when I take him for his checkup. He is a little bit plump, I certainly don't want him to get any fatter, but you are right, just more to love. And he is such a gentle giant. Bless him, he only just fits in the cat carrier, and we had to take the lid off the litter tray because it was too small for him :rotfl:
I definitely do need to speak to the vet about him, though. I'm not sure how much food he needs or even if I can use the same dose of flea spot-on.0 -

Oh I didn't mean he looks overweight: my last boy was 6.5kg (1 stone!) and the vet said he was absolutely fine, tho I did work him down to 6kg. My girl isn't quite 4kg fully grown so she is naturally petite, it's like chalk and cheese!
I have the Hagen Cat Cabrio carrier and the Hagen Catit jumbo covered litter tray, the largest I could find when I got my boy but not the cheapest. My second litter tray is an underbed storage box which is much more MSE. I really like the carrier because it's very sturdy, opens top or front with a perspex door, straps into a car with a seatbelt. Now I have Lulu I suspect the vets and the cattery think I am a show off with my huge, posh carrier. :rotfl:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
