Ipad & !!!!!! sites

I have had an Ipad for about a month now. Browsing this morning I suddenly got a !!!!!! site on it. Can I assume that Apple have adopted a browser that is non restictive, if so it is very bad.
I have cleared the cookies & browsing history & hope it will not happen again. If it does, this Ipad may well end up smashed up. I have had no problems with PC machines.:(

What do you mean you suddenly got a !!!!!! site on it? Do you mean a pop up?

If you mean you were able to visit one - Why would apple decide what a user can and can not go on?

I have a rude mind, I was thinking is this actually the first time someone is going to ask how to get to a !!!!!! site on an ipad lol.

Chances are the ipad has security settings on it, that restricts certain sites. Could be disabled

EDIT - Have a read here, looks like it's unrestricted.

You have to use your router and 3rd party apps to stop it

Just go to ipad explorer > Options and you will see parental control options to restrict explicit content.

One of the best things about the internet is that it is unrestricted and uncensored! Likewise any browser should be able to access the entire internet. This is what we call freedom. Or would you like to live behind the great firewall of China?

No doubt you would complain if the iPad were to stop you accessing web sites that Apple thought were unsuitable - such as Samsung and Creative. Or maybe Apple may just take a dislike MSE - as iPad problems have been highlighted here. Again freedom of choice.

It didn't open a !!!!!! site by itself. As an owner of a web browser you have to take responsibility for your actions using the browser. No one else can or should do it for you.

As the previous poster has linked, apps are available to help you.

If it does, this Ipad may well end up smashed up

Don't want any !!!!!!? alter your router's DNS settings to use those of OpenDNS

Create an account, block !!!!!! sites (gambling, whatever) and your home is now naughty-website free

I spend my life telling my wife that these terrible !!!!!! sites that 'appear' on the browsing history are purely unwanted pop ups :shhh:

Clicking a link on a website? Clicking a link in an e-mail?

Where were you on the internet before this !!!!!! site appeared? That may have some bearing on the result - as might the browsing history of anyone else who uses/used it.

Yeah, !!!!!! sites don't just 'appear' without a reason. You must have been on a pretty dodgy website to start with

Thanks for the replies.
I do not visit dodgy websites & believe that a free magazine website may have been responsible. The website suddenly appeared this morning automatically while I was browsing
Sorry if I sound old fashioned but naked bodies doing things may be okay for some but not for me. If it happens again the Ipad goes in the bin.
Going to check out the DNS solution in the meantime.;)
