For Goodness Sake ! Not A Big Deal As Far As I Can See. If Your Gonna Lose Sleep Then Call Them. If You Feel Brave Enough To Chance Your Arm ( Which Is What Id Do ) Then Set It Up First To Make Sure It Ok And Compatable And Use It. If They Complain Or Say It Was A Mistake Then Plead Ignorance. Tell Them Your Hubby/boyfriend Chose It And You Assumed It Was All Together Just Make Sure They Havent Taken Monies From Your Card Or Bank . If It Is A Mistake Then Theyll Prob Realise Themselves. I Wouldnt Worry Too Much About It Though.:rotfl:"that grady! won't sit next to a black child in church! but eats eggs, shoot right out a chickens !!!!!!" from fried green tomatoes:rotfl::smileyheaMSE is where my friends live :smileyhea0

I would call them up and explain it as you have here (including damaged box) perhaps they would be happy if you offered them a reduced price to keep the damaged already delivered goods legally. Could be a real bargain! All above board.0

i'd be so tempted but really think it's a dishonest thing to do to keep it without at least phoning the company in question. you never know they may say keep it - it's more trouble than it's worth - or throw in something free anyway. just my personal view - I do find it intriguing that so many would just hold on to it no questions asked.0

I'd phone them up and ask them about the home cinema package.smallpackages wrote: »For Goodness Sake ! Not A Big Deal As Far As I Can See. If Your Gonna Lose Sleep Then Call Them. Don't do anything. It's there mistake not yours.
As far as yuou know, the speakers came with the TV.
I had a similar situation with a new mobile phone once. They sent me two instead of one. I waited a month to see if they would call me but they didn't. I then stuck it on Ebay and made £200
Just keep it and enjoy!

Oh come on!! This is a slightly different situation to somebody leaving a wallet or mobile in your house isn't it?Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
I don't consider it as thieving, it wasn't taken from anywhere, it was given. If the company ask for it back fine, but I wonder if they even know where it was sent to cause you didn't order it. I don't know what I'd do as I've never been in that situation. But I wouldn't think of it as stolen.0

These are unsolicited goods.
The company sent them to you of their own free will, even if it was by mistake.
They are yours to keep.
Under the Unsolicited Goods and Services Act 1971 (as amended), it is an offence to demand payment for goods known to be unsolicited and someone who receives goods in these circumstances may retain them as unconditional gift, and does not have to pay for or return any unwanted goods.
This law applies to any goods or services received in this manner - eg if a window cleaner knocks on your door and says "I've cleaned your windows mate, that willl be a tenner", you can say thankyou and goodbye.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
