Just to give feedback on this, applied for the account on Sunday 2nd, got a text on Monday saying account opened, and today the account is showing on internet banking with the first transaction dated this Monday. Can't complain!

Lucky you. I'm into the 29th day. Lost access to my money weeks ago.
  • Mine has shown up as well in my online panel.

Gwapenut, how did you apply for yours? Was it via the online application?

Mine has now become visible, though only after high level intervention. I found the savings team completely ignored my secure message.

Next question - does anyone know how to BACS transfer into this account from elsewhere?

There are no BACS transfers any longer, only Faster Payments. Much of the same, just different name, and as the name implies, faster.

Doubt you can do it directly - but please correct me if anyone knows differently. It's dead easy, though, to transfer into your Flexaccount, and then do an internal transfer to your Regular Saver. You can do this manually, or set it up so it happens automatically. And it shouldn't be a problem for anyone doing it this way, seeing you are paying at least £750 into your Flexaccount anyway.

I don't think its possible as it only has an internal account number. You can tell this from the 'sort code', as it'll be 4 digits instead of 6 (according to NW staff). This certainly holds true for my account. No biggee though as you can transfer to it from your flex account.

Ts&Cs "Payments into the account can be made at any branch or online via your Nationwide FlexAccount." no mention of transfers in from elsewhere.

You can set up a standing order from your own current account. Everyone has the same sortcode and account number. Your account number is used as the reference. I made my first monthly payment on first of the month from my first direct account and it was credited the same day.

    You can search for

"nationwide sort code and account numbers for passbook"

in Google and it is the first link. Apologies for no direct link, although I have been a member for some time I cannot post them.

You need to refer to accounts with a passbook.

Savings account with a bond / passbook 07 00 93 33333334 Is your full account number,
    example: 1234/123456789
