If so the debit from your Flexaccount will have the account number of the regular saver in the reference field on your online statement.

Cheers Noh. Yes, the payment went out promptly! I now see the acc # now by clicking through to full statement..

Not concerned about the back dating of interest or anything but wanted to be able to add to it on the 1st, and wondered if i was the only one still waiting...

I did call them yesterday (after popping into my local branch to be told we can't help you). Apparently they somehow opened the account without linking it to my customer id! As for the 11+ days with no response to a secure message the lady was very apologetic and implied the team it got sent to have been asked why they're not checking/responding to messages!

Saying that, it's still not showing online ;)
  • Me and my OH both applied for one of these each. Mine went through without hitch - opened on 13th August, showing online by 28th August - payment backdated to 13th August.

My OH applied, got a reference number etc. Then didn't get any confirmation e-mail or anything. When she rang they had no record of her app (despite the ref number) she had to apply again online and rang again to check it had registered OK. This time it had and went through correctly and hes is now also showing online as of today.

Think they are having a few probs so probably worth a follow up phone call to check after applying online

Usual shambles from Nationwide's savings department. Have given up now and instructed them to close the account. Not worth it for £20 extra or so over a year.
  • My first deposit now showing on my online bank statement with an account number next to the transaction.

Date of transfer is 31st August so at least that means I can make another deposit in the month of September. And the account has been opened at last.

However, the account is not showing in my list of accounts. And because it is not there I cannot make my next deposit.

Will give it a couple more days to show up as it does say allow five working days for a new account to appear.

Mine was opened on 22.08.12 and STILL it has not shown up in my list of accounts. I messaged them and they said this:
"[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]From time to time our system is reviewed and updated. If any discrepancies in any details we hold for you are identified, a duplicate customer record is created so we can investigate this. When this happens you may not be able to view all your accounts online."
I simply do not understand what they are on about, but it apparently could take up to 10 working days for them to 'investigate' and get this account showing on my accounts page.
    Not impressed.

Nationwide were very quick sending our passbook for this new account, it came back yesterday, well within their time limits.

However, we had requested a joint account and the passbook stated my husband's name only. Had to take the book back to the branch today to have it amended.

Don't know where you get £20 from. Basic rate taxpayers will get about £65 extra on £250 per month upto 31 October 2013 compared to an account paying 3%. Seems to be more chance of a delay and shambles if you apply online rather than in branch.
  • Applied for this Flexclusive regular saver on 8th August, but no sign of it online. Apparently my application has been handed over to the complaints department. I get the impression they are overwhelmed and many staff are on holiday. Not sure why they make these products with so much manual processing which inevitably doesn’t cope. :(
Same story with my ISA transfer, took over a month. On the other hand their credit card doesn’t charge for foreign transactions and the free travel insurance saves having to shop around every year. I wish they’d just improve their quality of service.

250 per month for 12 months is an average balance of 1500 (250 at first, 3000 at end) . 3 percent difference of this is 45 per year. you don't get 3 pc of 3000. higher rate tax payer slashes that 45 per year.

slight approximation in the above - 14 month term. but it's still only about 30 better.

i opened mine on 8 aug. money taken weeks ago, no account details, appearance online. or anything. secure message sent 2 weeks ago ignored.

last time i save with them...

Assuming gross income, £250/month for 12 months would give you £6 difference (~£83) compared to putting £3000 in a 3% interest account, but you would also earn about £40 in the savings account that your drip feeding the regular saver with (starting at £3000 and going down to zero), so about £125 in total.

3% on the balance otherwise would be £90, so the difference is £35.
